Omega Oska Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I am using the X-52. When I push the throttle to max, the dial only goes to 10 (on Su-27) and cannot engage afterburner. HOwever, the throttle gives full response in the test screen in the option menu.

Check your settings for your throttle (in game), this is messed up as default. /Nasder, "I came, I saw, I got shot down."
Omega Oska Posted March 5, 2005 Author Posted March 5, 2005 I've already checked that. I went to the Option->Input-->Test screen to test my throttle and it gave full response. But it just won't work when I was flying. Thanks anyway.
GGTharos Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Have you tried checking if there's some weird curve issue? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Bind the throttle to throttle or thrust ingame, can't remember the exact name. I need to change this every time I reinstall lo-mac because it's bound to like left engine too so it's strange in a way. /Nasder, "I came, I saw, I got shot down."
Guest ruggbutt Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 He's correct. When you mod the demo to have the rest of the planes, going into afterburner gets you 105% thrust, not 110% like it's supposed to be. I double checked all my settings and curves, as well as calibrating my HOTAS again. It's a bug.

AFAIK the tachometer shows the RPM of the engines in percentage. Engaging afterburnes should not increase the rpm, since by engaging them you are pumping additional fuel in the exhaust chamber, with other words behind the turbine. Nevertheless you may reach values a bit over 100% without engaging afterburners due to atmospherical conditions.
EvilBivol-1 Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 I would go with Nasder's guess that the problem is in the input options. Make sure to check in the Input>X52>Axes that you Clear the Left Throttle and assign the (general) Throttle axes to your... well... throttle. And as for the 105 vs. 110%, AFAIK this is a fix, not a bug, meant to be more realistic than previous modeling. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer.
