Help needed!

Hi All, i was hoping you coudl help me.

ever since open beta went into 2.9 dcs became un playable. Freezes constantly. So I decided its time for an upgrade.

 

im currently running an intel i5 processor with a nvidea 1060GTX.

 

what hardware should i buy in order to play dcs at its maximum settings?

What kind of I5? Many different generations of CPU's have/had I5. So you could have an I5 3470 or I5 13600, so quite a difference.

Also, what resolution do you play at? There is a performance difference between 4K and FHD.

But generally, upgrade your CPU to something modern, upgrade your GPU to something modern (RTX 40XX or AMD equivalent). Get at least 16Gb of RAM, preferably 32 and a big (1TB) SSD.

yes to the above but I would aim at 64GB system RAM and either a bigger drive or 2x 1TB. My DCS is well over 500GB already. If you have Win, Apps and DCS on a 1TB drive, you will soon find out..heck..I need way more space. A 2TB is a good option but I would rather pick 2 independent 1TB drives

Thanks Guys, for the reply. Below an overview of my system. Note I'm already running DCS on a SSD. Would it be benificial I just swapped out the videocard?

Swapping out the GPU is a good start, but if you want to play at maximum graphics it's probably also a good idea to get a new CPU aswell, and with a new CPU comes of course also a new motherboard and RAM.

Im planning to buy the following system, and increasing the RAM to 32GB en the SSD to 2TB.

will this be sufficient to run 2.9 at the max?

It depends. Do you play at 1080p or 4K? Do you want any amount of FPS, 60, 120 or 144 FPS?

So after getting more advise and reading into this, i have bought my new system, cant wait to play this aqesome game with this setup
