Campaign Trimmer Not Working

Trying to play the paradise lost campaign and the trimmer isnt working. Works fine on any instant action mission.

I can see the button on the stick being depressed, but it doesn't trim the huey, so I'm forced to fly completely manually at all times (bar autopilot for long forward flights).

As I've put curvature on my stick to help with smooth flying, it means I'm constantly fighting it.

I've not bound my trim key to space so that shouldnt be screwing with it either.

Lord forgive me its been so long I forgot the startup procedure.
