apelsin44ek Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 Simple question: does an/aqx-14 datalink pod work or it is not yet made?
Ignition Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 There're no weapons currently available for that pod why would it be functional years before any of the weapons which uses that pod?
apelsin44ek Posted November 28, 2023 Author Posted November 28, 2023 For the a/a purposes like on the f16?
Tholozor Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 The datalink pod is only used for man-in-the-loop remote control for weapons like the GBU-15 and AGM-130, it has no functionality regarding aircraft-to-aircraft/Link16 datalink. apelsin44ek Posted November 28, 2023 Author Posted November 28, 2023 Than the question is: does it have same datalink functionality like f16? (sorry, I am not familiar with us aircafts)

(sorry, I am not familiar with us aircafts) The aircraft has JTIDS and compatibility with L16 but its not implemented yet. It will be displayed in the SIT page.
LorenLuke Posted November 28, 2023 Posted November 28, 2023 No. The Datalink pod in question is more like the AN/AWW-13 on the Hornet. This pod enables it to communicate, control, and receive video from certain weapons while those weapons are in flight. https://youtu.be/--nFNQQU1y4?t=173
