keith5475 Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 So my first huge multiplayer map works perfectly. Its set in the 1940's and each front has a different EWR station watching said front. I just set all the planes on Red to 40mhz and they could all call the EWR, and receive call out information. Now that im doing a 1950's plane set that has come to a screeching halt. None of the aircraft play well with one another. The Mig 21 seems happy to change to a few different frequencies and talk to EWR. However the mig 19 and warbirds absolutely refuse to use any similar frequencies. Not to mention the Mig 15 seems intent on not working at all on any frequency. What am i doing wrong? Is this even possible? Or am I just one step too far in wanting a 1950's scenario where planes get their call outs, and bogy dopes from ground based radar? The plane sets are Mig 21,19,15,109,190a8,190d Red. Blue is f86,A4, and all blue warbirds. Ive just found nothing on this topic. Do any of you have answers, or somewhere to point me? Thanks in advance. Newbie to DCS map making. Thanks!
razo+r Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 In DCS, any aircraft can call an EWR station as long as it has a compatible frequency for the aircrafts radio assigned to it. So you might have to set certain EWRs that are dedicated to a specific group of aircraft, and other EWRs for other aircraft, depending on their radios frequency bands.

Any known way to limit the visible EWR stations so there aren't 20 different EWR stations in the radio box?
razo+r Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 You could for example create two groups consisting of 5 EWRs, so then you would have only 2 EWR entries in the radio box. Or of course create as many groups as you need, depending on the radios of the aircraft. But I think two should be okay, one for the HF radios and one for the V/UHF ones.

I think that will be the most workable solution. Just not as realistic as I would like. Wish we could run multiple frequencies of one EWR installation... but thanks for the insights!!!
