RedeyeStorm Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Hi all, I have a question. My last mission was a bad weather night mission so I got a Case III aproach. On my first attempt I got the needles of the ACL working fine. Unfortunatly I got my bearings mixed up so I tried to land on the bow instead of stern (hey it was really dark you know). So I went for a go around. Called the carrier to (abort inbound) but on my two follow up attempts I got no more ACL needles (fixed cross). I did not change anything on the setup of the aircraft. So probably operator error but what is it I should do to get needles the seccond (or third or fourth....) time? Thanks all. RedeyeStorm.
draconus Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 ACLS uses DL with the carrier. Needles are only for the pilot using ICLS but good for reference. Did you forget to use DLC? Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
RedeyeStorm Posted December 20, 2023 Author Posted December 20, 2023 (edited) @draconus, I checked carefully. Had this before. So gear down, flaps down, hook down. Carrier is link host and DLC is up, checked visually. It was night so had the switches on the right front console on AWL not ICLS. And off course had the right square button selected (not behind pc and do not remember excact name). It works all fine on first landing attempt but not after go around. Maybe working first time is bug if switches need to be on ICLS? oh forgot, autothrottle on too. Edited December 20, 2023 by RedeyeStorm Additional information.

You're right, I forgot about these. I'd have to check it again in 2.9.2. 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
