Will Jesters SA calls be worked on in Jester 2? Currently, they are not much use, basically telling you where the bandit was a few seconds ago and no directional calls. It would be great if we could get some calls that accurately positioned the bandit allowing for a delay in looking and more importantly his direction , IE, Bandit 2 o’clock crossing left to right, or left hand turn, etc etc…….

Hey Mark!

I think you and I talked about this over the weekend in that it appears Jester's calls are all queued, like a laundry list of events that he has to go down and say in order.  So that call that the bandit is at your 7:00 even though you now see him in front of you in the HUD is very delayed and annoying.  I generally don't trust anything he says unless we're straight and level and there is not much else going on outside in our airspace.

Indeed and that is what prompted my query here! We live in hope for Jester 2! Would be good if someone from Heatblur could maybe comment.....?

Yes, they will be improved. But some disconnect will remain if a player maneuvers erratically or too fast during a call start, that can displace the bandit by any amount of degrees and aspect while the call is still happening. That all happens in half a second. A human would recognize that, pause, and then update his call. Whether this level of intelligence will be possible for 2.0, or rather 3.0, we'll have to see.

Cool and understood. I would have thought based on speed and trajectory of both planes, it should be possible to extrapolate a predicted position more accurately and direction / vector would be even easier. Thank you Mike!
