When they say someone has The Right stuff, this is exactly what kind of stuff they mean. Dragon1-1 Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 This is the guy who had the guts to push another F-4 by putting his own canopy against its tailhook. Saved two aircrew a stay at Hanoi Hilton that way. I sure hope HB implements a special exception to the regular aircraft to aircraft contact physics, just to make replicating this maneuver possible. 3
G.J.S Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Everyone must know the "Pardo's push" saga . . . That takes some unfeasibly large brass ones, because you have around 30 Tons of sick F-4 pushing back on your windshield framing - get it wrong and your mushy body wouldn't even slow the hook down before it embeds itself in the ejection seat. Blue skies. 1 - - - The only real mystery in life is just why kamikaze pilots wore helmets? - - -
KPenn5 Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 I knew of Pardo's push long before I read Robin Olds' book. Of course Pardo had large brass ones, he was a Texan! 1 hour ago, G.J.S said: Everyone must know the "Pardo's push" saga . . .
