Starting right after AAR Mission 3

HI, right when I start mission 3 I see the box telling me to push F10. I am guessing this is where I can start behind the tanker. The issue is I can't get the comms menu to come up so I can push F10 in the first 60 seconds of the game with the jet powered off. How do I skip the first half of the mission? I keep getting killed by the manpad and dont want to fly the first half for the 4th, 5th, and 6th time.

Try the "/" (or maybe it's the "\", can't remember which it is) rather than your normal COM 1/COM 2 key.  It should work on the ground before engine start.

I'm hijacking this thread because the title works.

When I try to skip the first part it just takes me to the mission complete screen and from there the end mission button is non-functional, clicking it does nothing. I can hit fly again and it starts me back at the beginning on the carrier or I can hit the X is the upper right and quit but I can't skip the intro of the mission. Am I doing something wrong?

I am getting shot down by the MANPAD every time when doing the run in where Smoke is supposed to follow me, after hitting the truck and then the building with the JDAM. I love the mission but getting smoked by that MANPAD five times in a row and having to run the whole start of the mission again is wearing me down. 

edit: I saw the other thread about this in the bugs section after posting this.
