DCS hangs while loading a mission

First of all, before I forget to write it here, there are no Mods in my DCS install.

It doesn't matter if I run DCS or DCS MT (both are stable versions and not beta), it always hangs at the "Waiting for Pool Tasks" - 1 stage (I hope I got the name of the stage right).

It did load a mission once out of 6 hangups - or crashes - whatever term you want to use.

I cannot even take a screenshot.

It was running great 24 hours ago.

I have ran Repair DCS World twice, once with the Check modified files setting, and once for the Check all files setting. It finishes both times and it says that DCS has been repaired successfully.

I have rebooted the PC twice (after running DCS Repair) and that does not help, DCS still crashes at the same stage.

My specs are: i7-13700F - 32GB DDR5 RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060Ti 16GB - 2TB NVMe SSD - Windows 11

I don't know what to do. So help would be greatly appreciated.

hello. change your pagefile to 32 GB

it seems that your dcs is not doing a normal crash. the log just ends without dump info.

It hangs at the exact same spot. And when I say it hangs, it reaches the point of "Wait for pooled tasks - 1" and it just sits there. I let DCS sit there for over 20 minutes and it eventually tells me that DCS has quit responding when I move the mouse.

hello. there are lots of other posts in the past about waiting for pooled tasks. troubleshoot by renaming your DCS folder in saved games. do no delete. then run DCS to see what happens.

Thanks for the advice.  I found out that this only happens now with one mission, which is weird because that mission used to load just fine.

Do I leave the pagefile setting at 32 GB or do I switch it back to where Windows controls it automatically?

try to open your mission and save it. sometimes missions in older versions of DCS need to have this done. no MODS in the mission right?

i prefer to leave the pagefile the way it is. i have 128 GB of physical RAM and i still have a 32 GB pagefile.

No MODS in the mission or anywhere in DCS.

Please remember that I have 32 GB of ram and I still have 32 GB of ram pagefile.

understood. it is not a problem and is preferred to keep the pagefile as is. can you post the mission that is causing you issues?

Ok. Understood on the pagefile.

I downloaded the mission from DCS downloads website, and the name of it is Hormuz_Islands_Dispute_CAP_Supercarrier_save_2.

That is it. What is strange is that I flew that mission several times and it did not begin to make DCS hang until this past weekend.

i was able to open the mission. it was not terribly fast to load. textures on the ship were slow too.

When DCS did not hang on me, that mission was not quite as slow to load as in your video but it did take a while for the textures on the ship to load as yours did.
