siema1977 Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Firing the ATGM is not working from the pilot position (enigma server, instant action missions, friend's private server). What I enabled: -Weapon panel: sight power, auto range, main arm switch, weapon panel knob to missile -Sight: auto range and synch -AI: request weapons enabled (wait for weapons enabled communication and AI gunner reticle 3 box color turn to white) Attempt to fire: -Turn on AI gunner menu reticle, press Designate Target/Fire, wait for AI crosshair to stop on target, align pilot crosshair and get tone, press Weapon Release: Nothing Other info from multiple attempts at firing: -Changed Weapon Release to different button and tried default keyboard command for firing weapon, still NOK -Used different duration of clicks on the Weapon Release (quick clicks, long presses, everything in between, all while tone is on and both pilot and gunner crosshairs are aligned), still NOK -Ordered -Tried workaround from 2022 (similar issue), where turning off the AI gunner menu reticle and then pressing Designate Target/Fire or pilot Weapon Release, still NOK -Did slow repair, still NOK -Reinstalled module, still NOK -Reinstalled DCS (with deleting Saved Games folder after uninstall), still NOK -Tried training mission on ATGM, missile can be fired from the gunner position with the keyboard command -In multicrew an experienced Mi24 user was not able to fire from gunner position and tone for pilot and gunner were not synched (could be separate issue)

I just tested both me firing and using designate fire bind, both works 1

I just tested both me firing and using designate fire bind, both works I see the list below, there is a ">" next to one of the targets when I try to fire (to my view the one the AI crosshair is on). Which command selects target? If the list is open does that mean the target is not selected yet?

After that you do all the lineup/tone shtick and fire 1
siema1977 Posted January 3, 2024 Author Posted January 3, 2024 OK, thank you, will try and come back with an edit. If still not solved I will try to make a video with the help of a friend.
siema1977 Posted January 3, 2024 Author Posted January 3, 2024 I do not have anything key binded to D key by default (fresh install, did not change anything except axis commands) can you share what is the name of this comand?
siema1977 Posted January 3, 2024 Author Posted January 3, 2024 Hey admiki - thanks, I was missing that command, now it works. I was always one click away from being able to fire! Solved, no bug here.
bingbean Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 Maybe not a bug, but it is not optimal how it works right now. At least there should be some addition forced weapon release button to allow pilot command the gunner to shoot when the crosshairs are line up and ready to shot tone is come. Because now there is imposible from pilot seat shot atgm to neutral buildings or bridges.

Short up command work for this pretty well. If he can't see any enemy target , he usually put his crosshair at the point you did short up command. Edited January 6, 2024 by bingbean
