juvat22 Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Hi, can‘t help myself, but something’s wrong with the set frequencies. In mission 10 for example, the written down frequency for marshal (308.200) on button 16 doesn’t let me contact marshal, it‘s on 352.000. It was pure coincidence that I found that frequency. I use Vaicom but I can’t imagine that causes the problem. Mission 9: basically same, can’t contact the carrier, only when I set the frequency correct on my uhf… in general, the set frequencies on all buttons on the front uhf are wrong… any suggestions? thanks a lot!
Reflected Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 It’s all good for me. Sounds like something is messing with your game. Any mods? Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
juvat22 Posted January 16, 2024 Author Posted January 16, 2024 (edited) ..no, no mods except serious ones like plane´s & helicopters, all the theatres, all those one has to pay money for.... Hmm, made some investigations... i´ve looked in some other missions both of your speed&angels and zone5-campaigns... all frequencies are set correct as they should be regarding the radio channelization in the docs. from missions 9 and 10 onwards, the frequencies are already stored incorrectly in the mission planner: and so they are finally onboard in the arc159 i havent tried to overwrite the missions in the campaign folder because of the possibility to loose the progress, am i right? Reflected Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 (edited) I’m away from my pc for a few days but I will check. I still find it strange though, either some update automatically reset all frequencies for the Tomcat but then why mission 9 onwards. Or it’s viacom, which is known to cause weird radio issues. can you please remove viacom and run a slow repair then try again? also, it’s the ARC-182 you need to use mostly. Can you post a screenshot of those settings? Edited January 17, 2024 by Reflected Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
juvat22 Posted January 17, 2024 Author Posted January 17, 2024 here are the settings of the arc182: i did a slow repair, no change. i will remove the campaign and install it again.
Reflected Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 I’ll have a look when I’m back to my PC next week. Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
Solution Reflected Posted January 18, 2024 Solution Posted January 18, 2024 (edited) Waaaitaminute. You CAN reach mother on the specified radio channel. Look, they’re all set to 352. Chig automatically sets the back radio, you just need to press the ptt button. DCS only supports a single freq for the carrier, so don’t worry about what’s on your kneeboard. It’s the channels that matter. And you should definitely not be messing with the front radio, comms are the RIO’s job. During ops the front radio is always set to squadron tac. juvat22 Posted January 18, 2024 Author Posted January 18, 2024 Hi, yep, i can confirm that. i´ve looked for the carrier´s frequenzy (show hide object´s), and it´s set to 352Mhz. what i do not know is why dcs is changing the frequencies away from those which are written down on the kneeboard, away from your intended radio channelization.. nevermind, we now found a good solution and i´ll use it. thank you reflected!
Reflected Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 DCS is not changing any freqs. As I explained above DCS has a single freq as opposed to IRL. So I made a realistic kneeboard in case we ever get separate channels. But it shpuldn’t matter because the channels work, Chig automatically switches, and you don’t need to work the radios.
