No, but it would not be necessary if the installation task was integrated. Note, btw that Navigating folders is one thing. Finding the correct folder can be another. Steam and Native can have differing folder names, as can OB and Stable. People who do not know this and try to follow the instructions for a Native Stable version can have a frustrating time indeed should they be using Steam OB. So unless the contributing author writes separate instructions for all versions and the installing player knows what to look for, this can become unnecessarily unpleasant. I'm the one who wants DCS to be a great experience for everyone, so everyone buys more planes, so even more planes and maps are developed.

The fact that you might need to occasionally navigate folders on your computer is not the reason DCS is such a niche game. There are far larger reasons for this. Anyone who can tackle the complexity of this sim is not going to be deterred by using Windows Explorer.

We are talking about a sim game with a 500-700 page manual for each of the aircraft. That’s the obstacle to popularity, not the GUI

And it’s amusing that people can be stumped in an age where everyone owns a smart phone you can ask for the answer to anything.

”hey Siri, where is my saved games folder for the steam version of digital combat simulator?”

You're wasting you time. 

There are certain users on these fora who have nothing better to do than tear down other people for daring to suggest that their is any room for improvement with ED's products.

Just block the Gollum and save your energy for interacting with someone who's interested in being useful, instead of people who only want to be obstructions.

If someone has the ability, they don’t need help. And we’re talking here about very simple tasks. If someone can’t understand how to use a web browser or Windows Explorer they’re not going to be able to figure out a DCS module either. So why bother?

I have the ability to walk to work. In fact, I run a yearly marathon. I don't need to drive to work, yet I still do. I don't need the help; I exult in the luxury of being helped.

This is more like asking someone else to drive you to work every day when you’re perfectly capable of driving yourself.

That's true and why you use mods at your own risk affair. I would be happy to have a good repository and an open source community mod manager
