Look forward to playing this game on the verge of getting it..

Once this game is fully launched will hyperlobby be supporting this game by any chance? If not who application can we use like we did for lockon.

By the way what are the multiplayer game modes are available for this game? Scrim missions? Co-op? Deathmatch? is there a level maker for us to create our own form of scrim missions.

New timer here but blown away with this game havnt been excited for a long time and just want to feed my curiosity.

Hyperlobby hasn't been updated in ages, nor will it be ever again, so no to that. But we don't really need Hyperlobby as much with DCS as it has a built-in server browser. Not quite as good as Hyperlobby and no chat, but it does the job.

Yes. All of those + Capture the flag.:D

:megalol:

You made my day there. :D

To the OP, there are no "game modes" in multiplayer. There's multiplayer missions and depending on how a given mission is made it might be analogous to any kind of "multiplayer mode", or even several at the same time.

There's no "level maker", but there is a pretty nice mission editor. ;)

TBH tho... Just for giggles I'm getting tempted to have a look to see if the mission editor can't be coaxed into a workable Capture the Flag... :P

^^ once multiplayer "flag" settings are fixed in the patch (pun intended) , it should definately be possible...:) ... if you want a hand looking into it, or testing, just drop me a msg, I think it'd be quite funny to impliment...

Well the mission editor uses trigger commands to start and stop processes.

While we are unable to pick up objects (e.g. the Flag) an alternative could be to let an object move along a route to the 'enemies base' and when it either gets destroyed or reaches its destination it respawns at its original location.

I don't know yet wether we can create a point system in our missions or that it is merely win or loose, but maybe we can use a counter trigger to track how many times the object has finished its route and once it reaches the desired amount of 'rounds' the mission fails for one side and succeeds for the other.

Very funny idea and with creative use of triggers it might actually be possible I think!

I'd like to take on the challenge so if you want to seriously look into it drop me a note (PM) so we can put some ideas on paper with a bunch of people and make the DCS CTF Missions! Just for kicks! ;)

Credits go to Kenan! :P

BTW Raikov, welcome to the community. ;) *whispers* But try not to use the word 'game' too often, unless of course, you're always flying in arcade mode. 'Simmers' tend to be a bit alergic to the word 'game'.*/whispers*

I think you could use 1 flag per client to "store" if that client "has" the flag...+ a flag to store the state if each ingame flag itself (at base, or not).

ie. Triggers to set grab flag values : if (clientx) in trigger zone "Red_Flag" and flag (red_flag_at_base = true), set flag (clientx_has_redflag) + un-set flag (red_flag_at_base)

Triggers to "score" : if clientx in trigger zone "Blue_Flag" AND (blue_flag_at_base=true) AND (clientx_has_flag=true) action : message = "Blue Capture Flag"

..anyways, I think something quick and nasty like that could be mocked together quite fast...refining it would be down to any additional functionality the patch might bring to multiplayer flags and triggers...ie how to actually keep a "score" based on "captures" + how to set a "game over" ..

..lolpers

Yeah, in fact, I already have a prototype capture the flag mission that I just finished flying for the first time.

Needs a lot of tweaking before it approaches real playability but it's definitely doable. :)

(I also do not look forward to the massive grind of duplicating and organizing flags for all clients...)

EDIT: Oh, and I wish flags could have proper names in stead of just numbers. Would make it so much easier to organize this... Or, for that matter, a way to handle them through "proper" scripting...

yeah...flag aliases would be great *hint hint ed* ;)

...also, I'm not sure how well flag setting / unsetting works in MP .. I remember trying to set something up that just would not work as a MP client, and I think it came down to the flags beeing set / unset fine on the host, but not on the clients..
