I had a similar problem. When starting DCS, it showed the splash screen and then quit.

I went through all the steps that were mentioned here with no success. Just before reinstalling Windows, I found in the DCS log information about problem with Lua path. After a quick investigation, I found the cause.

I had installed Lua language with Scoop, I don't even remember when and why.

After uninstalling Lua from the Scoop directory and removing the Environment Variables associated with it, I was able to run DCS without any problem. No Windows refresh/reinstall needed.
