Doremas Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Good morning everyone, my name is Fabrizio and I'm from Rome, I've known DCS for a few months, a friend of mine told me some time ago about the possibility of being a RIO on the F14, so I came across this game. In 48 years I would never have thought of playing a flight simulator and in the end, as they say in Rome, I'm bored. I was so confused that after 5 months I wanted to get an Oculus VR, before buying it I saw if the specifications of my computer were valid and I must say that my BUILD is of the latest generation, only that when I bought all the parts they didn't I had focused on the fact that one day my path would cross paths with DCS and so in August I opted for an AMD RX6950XT XFX, excellent card, mid-range, nothing to say. When I installed the OCULUS Meta Quest 3 and tried it with DCS I encountered the problem that the COCKPIT TEXTURES remain blurry, I can't get that definition that allows me to read everything inside the plane perfectly , I have only and exclusively seen settings for NVIDIA cards around, but as I said before, I didn't foresee something like this. Do you know, or is there anyone who has a specific setup to use VR? Or do I have to get hammered in the teeth? I ask you veterans and experts to perhaps make up for this sharpness problem in the meantime. PS the OCULUS is connected strictly with USB 3.2 cable Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 7950 X3D MOB: MSI Carbon X670E RAM: 64GB 6400Mhz GPU: AMD RX6950XT the rest is superfluous THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE
unlikely_spider Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 By default, Meta Quest 3 is not set up to display fine detail like cockpit gauges. Try increasing the PD in DCS, the resolution in the Oculus software, or by third-party tool like Oculus Tray Tool. I have a Quest 3 and after the right settings I'm very happy with it. 1 Modules: Wright Flyer, Spruce Goose, Voyager 1

Welcome to the forum. It might be worth posting for help in the VR section in future as there is some good advice there. To start with: In Oculus app push the resolution slider to the far right to max the resolution. Download oculus tray tool (or access the oculus debug tool; you can Google how to access this) and set the supersampling to about 1.3. This should give you a high Res image and good visuals.. As you are using link cable, try increasing the bitrate up to the max of 960 Mbps. This will help with the image quality. In DCS, make sure pixel density is set to 1 and enable some anti-aliasing. With an AMD card this will need to be MSAA or TAA. Try these first and see how you get on. 1 9800x3d; rtx5080 FE; 64Gb RAM 6000MHz; 2Tb NVME; Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4).
Doremas Posted February 10, 2024 Author Posted February 10, 2024 Thanks guys, your advice is precious. I immediately try what you told me Unfortunately I wrote in the wrong section due to my mistake, and I wasn't able to find the right forum section. As soon as I tried DCS, I will write to tell you if I solved it Thanks again Inviato dal mio SM-A145R utilizzando Tapatalk

Thank you for the answer, I installed the application you wrote to me and I also have OpenXR installed, I made my settings and I must say that I found the right size. What graphics card do you have? And if you can share with me the settings you made I would be grateful. Thanks again

How are FPS games going for you? I await your news and thanks again so much
Tomcat388th Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 I use the oculus debug tool to tweak my link cable settings plus I do use open xr tool kit with CAS upscaling enabled and you can also adjust the color settings for a better overall dcs world enviroment. Interesting, does increasing the res in the oculus app and add a smaller amount of SS in tray tools as opposed to leaving it default and adding a larger amount of SS in tray tools?

It should be the same as long as the overall resolution matches. 1 9800x3d; rtx5080 FE; 64Gb RAM 6000MHz; 2Tb NVME; Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4).
