cfrag Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 So I've created a small script that makes helicopters spawn and fly between trigger zones I place on the map. Works like a charm. Except when I place these trigger zones on the helicopter platform of a gas platform. While the helicopters can take off fine, they spectacularly crash each and every landing on the platform. Is this a known issue? Here's a miz that demonstrates the issue. Simply follow any of the spawning helicopters to their sad demise. civvy heli platformer.miz
ED Team NineLine Posted March 8, 2024 ED Team Posted March 8, 2024 I don't think this is an AI issue as the AI land on oil platforms just fine on their own. Perhaps its an issue with he script you are using. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Thank you @NineLine, I would not have reported this if I didn't think it was an AI issue. I know you can set a waypoint to land at an oil platform. You can't, however, set a Task to land on an oil platform. If you do, the helo crashes just like in the demo I provided you with. ME seems to know this, since you cannot assign an oil rig or gas platform as location to land in a 'land' TASK. So something in the AI screws up when a Task 'land' is assigned to a waypoint, preventing the helicopter from landing on these platforms, and making it crash 100% of the time. Why would mission creators want this feature? To assign some nice 'supply the rigs' type routes that players can, for example, escort. Since we know that the AI does know how to land on rigs, all we now need to figure out to make it work as a task. Edited March 9, 2024 by cfrag
