After thoroughly reworking my Cougar config for the upcoming 1.1, I finally found a way to get my microstick to act as the mouse and properly control the HUD TDC. This works fine with A/A, like in the Su-27 - but I found last night that it does NOT work with the Su-25 in it's A/G modes. When I turn on the laser designator, the mouse does not move the HUD cursor, no matter what I do. I can move it using the keyboard keys, but the mouse won't work. What's the deal here? Why would it work with A/A but not A/G?

It's really kinda retarded, but to use an axis to move the cursor in A2g you have to map it to the radar axes. This is not a big deal if you only fly the Su-25 and A-10, but if you fly the fighters you will be out of luck.

Personally, I map my microstick on my X-52 as buttons to be able to use it for both.

Actually, can't I just set the mouse to control Radar slew in Ground mode and TDS slew in BVR mode? That ought to decouple them.

Yep, you're right! I just discovered this in your other thread over on the Ubi forums. Man, this whole time I was neglecting some of my axis assignments because I thought they would conflict!!

Heh heh, glad to help. :)

I'm looking forward to finally getting this settled ... it's been SO long that I've tried to get the mouse to correctly bind to the TDS.

Alright, it DOES work - you can control both the A/G laser designator cursor (using 'Radar slew') and the A/A TDS with the mouse.
