Can someone please educate me on how the Slugmouse works with leapmotion and which versions? I  see some on sale on Ebay: Leap Motion Controller LM-010; Leap Motion VR V5.

I'm getting a Pimax Super and don't want to give up on the Slugmouse.

I got mine cheap off eBay and stuck it to the front of my Crystal Light with double-sided sticky pads.

That would be HTCC and Leap Motion. The HTCC website has details about using the Leap Motion Controller with HTCC: Home | HTCC

Hardware: Leap Motion Controller 2 or Leap Motion Controller 1

Software as per the HTCC website instructions: Ultraleap | HTCC

All USA customers please note that the Trump import duty is now in effect. All new orders will be subject to a 10% import duty plus handling fee (currently 50 pence) and will be included in the invoice so that the postal delivery duties will be pre-paid. I will absorb this for current orders that are currently in production.

Hi, I have been DCS F18 for about one year now with v large quality screen and Wing Wing HMD ,DDI' throttle and stick so all up normal  high end set up. 

I am tempted by VR and want to know what is the best set up for the way forward. Quest 3 seems good but how do I utlise the wonderful DDI and instrument set up in front of me.  Cutting face mask to look down nose seems not for me maybe and the look thru I am told is not great ( especially compared to the w/wing panels in front of me so I am asking for advice and have narrowed my choice to the following but am I right or wrong as there is good money at stake here.

1) Quest 3 and use look thru or try and get point control but I am retired so I may be dead by the time it arrive

2) Second hand Varjo Areo with "Slugmouse" but not sure what tracking programs I need to add to this.

3) Something else ???

Is the second option the best long-term as I may then sell on my existing set up if this option is future-proof for the next five years maybe

Whilst I haven't tried this myself, I would consider the Quest 3 and use its pass-through feature that enables you to mix VR and the real world. For all other cockpit switches that you do not have physical switches for, use the Quest 3, HTCC and Slugmouse.

As I said, I haven't tried this myself, so it would be prudent to seek the views of someone experienced with the Quest 3 and pass-through.

Or ditch the Win Wing kit and go Quest 3, HTCC and Slugmouse - fully VR. As I like to fly a variety of airframes, I find that this is the best option.

That would leave the choice of VR units to either V3 or Varjo aero which I am not sure works with your set up re finger tracking HTCC and something called Lighthouse ? is this all compatible do you know ? Sorry for probably naive questions but I am new to VR

You should consult the HTCC website (Home | HTCC). It says the Varjo Aero is not compatible as it doesn't have hand tracking hardware. You would need to add an UltraLeap Motion Controller. I have no idea what "Lighthouse" is.

I use the Quest 3, with virtual desktop, this allows the passthrough mode to see my real world around me. The clarity is the capable of being the same as some other super expensive headsets, I've tested them. You have an option for opacity/ transparency of the passthrough in virtual desktop. I use it at around 45% and I can see my keyboard and type with certainty and my streamdeck and other buttons. I only use the hand cutout mode, you can draw a box around whatever you'd like and it stays cutout, but for me I use the handcut, which places a generous passthrough circle around your hands at all times, so when I reach my hand in front of me to my keyboard, that area is 45% transparent to the world around me and I can still see 65% of dcs, this is adjustable from 0%-100%. It's the answer and future for VR gaming. I then us HTCC for the hand tracking and the slugmouse as my mouse clicker. This combo has ruined me so I can only ever buy another headset that has these features. If the new pimax dream lives up to their promises, this is the next move.

As TFS and I said earlier, with the Quest 3 and its pass-through technology, you can see the WinWing hardware via the headset's cameras and carry on using it. Then use the built-in hand tracking of the Quest 3 and Slugmouse for all the other switches that you haven't got a physical device for.
