Raisuli Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 I'm setting up a mission with some long straight transitions and want to put green gates in. Is there an (easier) way to get all those waypoints on a straight line? Right now I'm eyeballing it and using the distance measuring tool as my straight edge...and it's pretty ugly.
cfrag Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 Well, there's no good solution to that, but what you can try is this: Set up the first waypoint and the last. You'll see a straight line between the two. Using the ruler, measure the distance where you would want to put the gates, and put down some static objects where the waypoints would go. place them on the line between wp 1 and 2 that you can see, this should be a reasonably straight line. Zoom in for better precision. THEN: select the aircraft, and choose EDIT and select the first waypoint again. now select ADD. This will put ME into add waypoints again, but the waypoint is added after the currently selected WP, which is one now, click on the previously placed static objects that mark the spots where the gates should go. ME places new waypoints after WP 1 and before the last WP. Continue till done
twistking Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 you can also create helper-lines. use the zone tool, another flightplan or the drawing tool to create the straight line and then use that to align the waypoints (zoom in a lot!). after that you can delete or hide the helper line... Raisuli Posted March 9, 2024 Author Posted March 9, 2024 Thanks! Once the UPit is out of the shop to address a few minor gripes, which should be later today, I'll give those a shot. Doing flight school missions, because I spent way too much time learning basic stuff for which there is no instruction. At the same time learning how to put 'real' missions together. Besides, 1v0 is my niksen time...
