I was flying the quick action mission and was hit by an AA missile. I managed to eject before the chopper hit the ground and my pilot parachuted safely to the ground. I could walk around using the arrow keys and I even inspected my ruined chopper. What are my options from here? get a new bird, hike back to base, ect?

Restart mission :D

Really, if u failed mission, you should try restart it and maybe this time you finish it in well condition ;]

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

Now this would be awesome and NO I'm not asking ED to make this happen cause it would be ALOT of work... however once a pilot has ejected and is on the ground it shifts into a FPS mode of play.. So if you are surrounded by enemy troop you could pull out your trusty Makarov... Splatter their brains across the landscape as you hot-foot it all the way back home.. And before someone says "Yoti dude you can do that in ArmA".... I know but ArmA is not a simulation.. Call me a prude or whatever but I stopped playing "games" years ago.. I only simulate.. From Ship sim's to my incredible space shuttle sim and of course Black shark. As a pilot myself anything less than a simulator just don't turn my crank anymore...

I tend to be in the same boat. Where I could spend hours playing just about any type of game when I was in high, now I can only still the hunger with sims so it seems. They just give you the biggest reward IMHO.

(I am a pilot myself as well. Maybe its related. ;) )

Go say hello to the person who shot you down, they're pretty friendly. :)

ROFL muell :megalol:

Most priceless remark ever!

Seriously though, it would have been fun if we would have had an option to radio for a rescue mission and sit and wait for the rescue chopper to pick you up. Maybe a nice thought for a future small add-on to the game: "DCS rescue pack" :D

LOL

That's hilarious. I don't really wanna get shot down, but I'm dying to walk around and shake the enemy's hand. :megalol:
