Ever since the upgrade to 2.9, when trying to play a replay, DCS crashes.  Each time I've allowed it to send a bug report.  I know others are seeing this problem.  What's going on?

hello. are you trying a track that was created with the current revision of DCS? if you are trying a track from a previous revision, it is likely your issue.

also if you want, post your DCS.LOG file for analysis.

No.  It's a replay generated from a recent session using the current version of DCS.  I know other DCS users who are experiencing the same problem.  Log from crash attached.

hello again.

looks like not enough memory.

you should either get more memory or set a 32 GB pagefile.

Makes sense.  I noticed it was using a lot of my memory.  It's interesting that running the sim normally (not in replay), doesn't have this problem, but running a replay of the same session can.  Seems odd running a replay consumes more memory than the session it came from.  But thanks for the reply.  Not too keen on increasing the page file size.  I gather most DCS users run 64GB systems?  Does DCS load the entire replay file into memory to run it?  Seems a strange way to do things.  Other sims I use don't do that.  They play the file (and provide transport controls).

Something else that seems odd about that log entry is, 176925783632  bytes is roughly 176GB.   That seems unreasonably high and I suspect there is something wrong with what's generating that log.  But I can believe it's a memory problem.

yes a lot of commas in that number. i think you are correct that the number in the log is askew. see if you can share the reply. i can see what my machine does. i have 128 GB RAM and a 32 GB pagefile.

32GB.  How much do you run?   What's the minimum amount of memory required by DCS these days?

Wow.  That's quite a lot of RAM.  Is 128GB required to run DCS these days? I suspect you'll have no problem running it.   Since I posted this the first time, I've found some replays will run, and others crash.  What's really odd is it's the shorter replays that crashed.  Little rhyme or reason to when it works and when it doesn't.

there have been so many users over the years that have too little RAM. more users are getting defacto 64 GB. there have been mentions of an MP session will use about 50 GB.

i am not sure why some missions / tracks work and some do not. the history of tracks in DCS is foggy at best. the track system was never meant to be for content creation. rather it was meant as a troubleshooting tool.
