Enormity of aircrafts explosions

Would it be possible to get more real looking explosions of the planes we have in DCS? Specially bigger. I would say the enormity of the explosion depend mostly on the amount of fuel left in tanks.

Planes aside, I'd welcome more smoke and flames from exploding vehicles. We (unfortunately) have a lot of fresh footage showing how much smoke is emitted when a tank is hit (and I'd say a lot). Would it significantly affect performance?
