But since we are now Separated from the "Merge" installing, the CJS Super Hornet resides independently in the \Saved Games\ Folder, and does not overwrite or modify any Legacy hornet files, instead we are now using our own cockpit Scripts on top of the legacy hornet's. But the folder name is \Cockpit\Scripts\ just like the legacy, instead of \Cockpit1 <or 2>\Scripts, like it was w/ the merge install setup prior to v2.4 Thanks for integrating it to the SuperHornet! Silver_ Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Hi @CapnCoke congratulations for this mod because I love it, I use it since it came out. The only thing I notice is that in Night Missions (dark whithout moon) the fonts are chosen becoming illegible as you have the shine up. To be able to read them I have to lower the brightness to the minimum and raise the contrast a bit. With the original fonts this does not happen. I do not know if you anticipate putting some kind of improvements in upcoming updates to correct the readability of the MDP at night or selecting Night mode. Thanks for your work my friend. 1

Hi, thanks for the report. Unfortunately couple days ago my GPU died. Thought its a good time to try to get my hand on the latest GPU but it's been difficult since they either run out of stock or are egregiously marked up. I can't run DCS anytime soon but will try to find a solution as soon as I can get my PC up. To clarify, this only happens when MPD is in night mode correct? 1 F/A-18C Modern MPD - JHMCS II https://forum.dcs.world/topic/347416-fa-18c-modern-mpdsuperhornet-mpd-mod/ F-15E MPCDs and Grayscale FLIR v1.46 https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331664/
Silver_ Posted March 13 Posted March 13 (edited) 4 hours ago, CapnCoke said: To clarify, this only happens when MPD is in night mode correct? Exactly, it only happens at night. I forgot to mention that this happens to me in VR (Quest 3 in my case; I don't know if it happens to other headsets) and with DLSS enabled (mode E). If I revert the changes and leave DCS as it originally was (green monitor), this doesn't happen. My friend, don't worry about fixing it right now. Get your computer up and running first, that's the most important thing. I'm in no rush, and I'm very grateful. Thank you. Edited March 13 by Silver_
Farside24 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) Hello Thanks for this mod that is great! What is MPD Textures? Does it affect the screen frame or the content? And then, is this VR thing bellow still advised as of today? On 5/1/2024 at 9:53 PM, CapnCoke said: Updated to add ground designation to jhmcs, and some polishing. Apology for changing the folder structure again. It bothered me that I need to overwrite folders in the mod manager when developing this mod. So I've seperated the F18C and Superhornet again but structured it better than v1. Just open the folder of your aircraft and continue installation from there. Some changes were done with the font thickness/fuzziness since v2.0 had low fuzziness which I liked but for some reason it affects the font brightness. Therefore I had to do some balancing again between thickness and fuzziness. Hopefully I don't need to touch it again. For VR users, if you have trouble with the ampcd readability, I suggest going in to f18c modernmpd\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Cockpit\Scripts\Multipurpose_Display_Group\Common\indicator\ and open MDG_strokesdef.lua with any text editor and adjust on line 15 and 16 to this DMC_outline_thickness = 3.15 DMC_outline_fuzziness = 6 This was taken from my old white font green symbology mod VR version. I don't think I'll include a VR version to reduce the amount of folders. ax2212 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) Hey FYI - new DCS update breaks this mod. A few of the guys I fly with are reporting the same issue. No SA page. for 2.1.42 and tested in 2.1.43 as well Also as an aside - im also curious if we should be modifying the files mentioned for DDI readability in VR. and what does the MFD textures do? i use a different clean cockpit mod, but i also did try with the MFD textures file and it also didnt work today thank you for a great mod! Flingpu Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I can confirm, SA page is blank on the AMPCD (except for some threat rings). I just downloaded it fresh from the website and installed and it was the same.
Lucidmoose1 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I can confirm this did kill the SA page. The JHMCS2 mod also kills the FLIR controls using DCS-BIOS. That's been a problem since before the update. I think it changes an address.
Lucidmoose1 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 @CapnCoke, Sorry forgot to tag you in the previous posts reporting the SA page with the last DCS "update". Love the mod btw. Hope you located a GPU. 1
skypickle Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I noticed this mod fiddles with some of my keybindings. The flir and the ltd/r switch bindings disappear. What gremlins lurk in old DCS code! 1 4930K @ 4.5, 32g ram, TitanPascal

But when I install the "F/A-18C Modern MPD" mod, the three switches that control it (FLIR power, LTD/R, LST/NFLR) stop working, and the ECM doesn't work either. 1
Lekaa Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Try remove this lua file from the mod, mods/aircraft/fa-18c/cockpit/scripts/multipurpose_display_group/common/indicator/mpd_pb_defs.lua Let the default one run.

NicolasDf Posted March 21 Posted March 21 LS, I’ve been using this mod since release without an issue. However, after updating DCS this week (03/20/25), the MPD mod doesn’t work anymore for the SA page set on the MPCD. It only shows the link 16 symbols (wingman etc.) on a black screen. The SA set on the left or right MPD works fine, the problem is limited to the MPCD (center). I’ve tried a DCS cleanup and the SA page works fine on the MPCD with the mod disabled. Any advice would be appreciated. DN
inZane Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Confirmed the SA is broken on all MFD and MPCD. Will watch for an update, if there is one possible. Bones1775 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 did some comparing of lua files and there have been a lot of changes to the formatting of some of the code. most likely the culprit in this. i'm personally not smart enough to figure out how to fix it.

Anyways to the main issue. I did see the changelog couple days ago but a quick glance made me think this mod should be fine, and boy was I wrong. Since there isn't much said in the changelog it might take some time to get this fixed. Anyways heading to the store to grab a new GPU today. Paid over MSRP by a couple hundred but oh well it's been a <profanity>ty market. About the reports of keybindings being affected. That is strange and might need some digging. Hopefully it fixes itself once I get the main features to work. Also, please use a mod manager to easily enable and disable mods. It hurts me knowing some people had to use DCS cleanup to get their game to work. 4 hours ago, Yarick1 said: @CapnCoke can we get a version of the HUD addon that has the constraints of the original (HUD) mod for more realism when in VR (with the glow effect when its night)?
