More like inspired from mpds used in modern jets including the superhornet. With some additions to the SA page like radar arc and mid circle that superhornet has. JHMCS also has the ability to be used with NVG and color taken from IJHMCS marketing materials.

Hi @CapnCoke congratulations for this mod because I love it, I use it since it came out. The only thing I notice is that in Night Missions (dark whithout moon) the fonts are chosen becoming illegible as you have the shine up. To be able to read them I have to lower the brightness to the minimum and raise the contrast a bit. With the original fonts this does not happen. I do not know if you anticipate putting some kind of improvements in upcoming updates to correct the readability of the MDP at night or selecting Night mode.

Hi, thanks for the report. Unfortunately couple days ago my GPU died. Thought its a good time to try to get my hand on the latest GPU but it's been difficult since they either run out of stock or are egregiously marked up. I can't run DCS anytime soon but will try to find a solution as soon as I can get my PC up.

To clarify, this only happens when MPD is in night mode correct?

Exactly, it only happens at night. I forgot to mention that this happens to me in VR (Quest 3 in my case; I don't know if it happens to other headsets) and with DLSS enabled (mode E). If I revert the changes and leave DCS as it originally was (green monitor), this doesn't happen.

My friend, don't worry about fixing it right now. Get your computer up and running first, that's the most important thing. I'm in no rush, and I'm very grateful. Thank you.

What is MPD Textures? Does it affect the screen frame or the content?

	DMC_outline_thickness = 3.15
	DMC_outline_fuzziness = 6

This was taken from my old white font green symbology mod VR version. I don't think I'll include a VR version to reduce the amount of folders.

Hey FYI - new DCS update breaks this mod. A few of the guys I fly with are reporting the same issue. No SA page.  for 2.1.42 and tested in 2.1.43 as well

 

Also  as an aside - im also curious if we should be modifying the files mentioned for DDI readability in VR.

and what does the MFD textures do? i use a different clean cockpit mod, but i also did try with the MFD textures file and it also didnt work today

I can confirm, SA page is blank on the AMPCD (except for some threat rings). I just downloaded it fresh from the website and installed and it was the same.

I can confirm this did kill the SA page. The JHMCS2 mod also kills the FLIR controls using DCS-BIOS. That's been a problem since before the update. I think it changes an address.

I noticed this mod fiddles with  some of my keybindings. The flir and the ltd/r switch bindings disappear. What gremlins lurk in old DCS code!

I made a switch bottom a while back and programmed it with DSBIOS. Everything works fine.

 

But when I install the "F/A-18C Modern MPD" mod, the three switches that control it (FLIR power, LTD/R, LST/NFLR) stop working, and the ECM doesn't work either.

Try remove this lua file from the mod,
mods/aircraft/fa-18c/cockpit/scripts/multipurpose_display_group/common/indicator/mpd_pb_defs.lua
Let the default one run.

sorry - i do not see this file in the most recent update of the mod, 2.1.43 to remove

Ah okey, i use a different mod, that broke as well. That fixed it for me, but still a lot of stuff have changed in the code

LS,

I’ve been using this mod since release without an issue. However, after updating DCS this week (03/20/25), the MPD mod doesn’t work anymore for the SA page set on the MPCD. It only shows the link 16 symbols (wingman etc.) on a black screen. The SA set on the left or right MPD works fine, the problem is limited to the MPCD (center). 
I’ve tried a DCS cleanup and the SA page works fine on the MPCD with the mod disabled.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Confirmed the SA is broken on all MFD and MPCD. Will watch for an update, if there is one possible.

did some comparing of lua files and there have been a lot of changes to the formatting of some of the code. most likely the culprit in this. i'm personally not smart enough to figure out how to fix it.

MFD textures just changes the MFD screens giving it a black background and light reflection layers, some dust/scratches and fingerprints.

 

Anyways to the main issue. I did see the changelog couple days ago but a quick glance made me think this mod should be fine, and boy was I wrong. Since there isn't much said in the changelog it might take some time to get this fixed. Anyways heading to the store to grab a new GPU today. Paid over MSRP by a couple hundred but oh well it's been a <profanity>ty market.

About the reports of keybindings being affected. That is strange and might need some digging. Hopefully it fixes itself once I get the main features to work.

Also, please use a mod manager to easily enable and disable mods. It hurts me knowing some people had to use DCS cleanup to get their game to work.

I think the original hud mod constraints were much smaller than what they were irl from my research (tbh it was mostly just an eyetest research)

I tried your mod and it is awesome in VR.

For now, I postpone the update only not to lose your mod 🙂

Hope you are able to fix it in the near future.

Also, I do not know how, but you may try to increase your mod visibility to have more user because it is really great.
