How can I populate the deck of CVN-72 without all the static crew instantly sinking to the bottom of Neptune's garden?

On the properties of a static, link it to the carrier unit, then it will hold its initial position

Thanks. I did try this with  mixed results. About half the crew members did not die, some were mysteriously missing, and the LSO turned suicidal. If I can figure out how to make a screenshot properly from the game, I will try to upload example of suicidal LSO.
