Does local airfields count as some times at LH they fly most of the day F15,F16,F35s ?

If you get a decent picture then yes it counts. I did start another thread on "home airshows" as well so either would work. Have you got some pics of an F15, F16 or F35?

I had four f35s fly over a few weeks ago which has never happened before. No camera on hand either!

Yeah, some of those were from Duxford, some from little grass strip airshows. I spend a lot of the summer up the field near me. Spits, Tiger Moths, Helis, Balloons, Skydivers, PPL pupils, all sorts goes on. I pay a couple of quid to park the car, grab a coffee and spend the afternoon hugging the fence 🙂. Consider myself very lucky really.

I’ve a ton of pics, some old videos from years ago with Ray Hannah, Charlie Brown, the Grace family etc. displaying. I’ll try not to spam your thread any more than I have already though 😄.

Nice shot btw Freehand 🙂.

Feel free to spam with lots of photos! That was the aim of this thread. I'm rusty with my photography and sold my canon 300mm and 100-400mm a few years ago. I've just ordered a used canon FD 300mm F4 so am hoping to get back into practice for the D day airshow. Back to basics with manual focus!

I'm hopeless in manual mode. AV or TV for me and I'm still dodgy.

These three are from up the field. Top one I was right behind Charlie with only an 18-135mm. He smoked me out 🙂

That's a great shot! I bet your camera needed a clean afterwards.

What lens did you use for the bottom one of the tandem spit? Is it from the air or ground?

Cheers, I did have the sensor cleaned funnily enough, a while after that though.

Logged in here an hour or more ago to post and got distracted, only just noticed. - That lens was a 70-300mm, really good fast focus I had before I got the 1-400, taken from the ground.

Up close and personal with the Spit there, very nice. Makes me wanna scratch an itch and sort that trim out 😄. Apparently those leads will only transfer black & white pics or play Glenn Miller so as not to offend 🙂. Haven't seen a Jug fly for a bit, I owe it to myself really, any excuse for an airshow eh.

Apparently I've reached my limit for pics, It's saying I'll exceed my quota or something.

Is that the canon 100-400? I used to have that. Sold it about 10 years ago and am regretting it now!

There is one flying at the D-day airshow. And a P-38, P-51 and an F-86. And lots more..

Yep, a surprise Birthday pressie from Mrs Slippa a few years ago now. A 100-400mmL, I almost fell over. Thankfully she got an almost new one second hand. Immaculate, all the bits, case etc. It's the old model, the new one wasn't around then. Not that I'd be looking for that kind of money, we ain't millionaires.

Somewhere on the forum there was a thread with some really good pics from different people. Someone gave me the idea of trying one of those extenders so we'll see.

edit: found it.

Well aware of the D-Day annie show but cheers. Bit of a sore point indoors. I try to do a few if I can but I'm not great health-wise which buggers things up a fair bit. No Flying Legends these days either unless they've changed something? No doubt you'll have done those being up there? We used to do a lot more, we're old farts now in our fifties and I'm a bit knackered.  We just missed a show we had good tickets for. Not cheap and couldn't do anything with our tickets. Happens too much to book anything but when all the stars come into alignment, now and then I get to enjoy something. I missed 99% of things last year and I do like to have a good sniff of the Merlins to keep me going 😄. Was gutting though. I get little 'shows' all summer without trying so it's not like I go without but you have to do the shows properly as well as support the cause eh.

I don't know how the forum sorts out pics but I could only up this one.

I was up the field one day more or less with the place to myself. light aircraft coming and going when we got buzzed by the BBMF. They came belting in out of the blue, nice and low over our heads and a fella down the fence turned into a ten year old and asked me what they were, Spits or Hurricanes. I turned to him, every bit reduced to a ten year old too and told him "both" with a big grin 🙂. They can do that to ya can't they 😄. Parky was flying P7 then. Obviously a special one being what it is.

I took this with an iphone as I didn't have the camera then. You never know what'll fly in up there 🙂. I was just lucky that day.

If you zoom in on the front view of the B-17 you can see a teddy bear in the nose.

Love Sally B.

Also, nice to see the Blenheim flying. Last time I managed to visit they were very busy restoring it and nowhere near done.

I've always had a soft spot for the Blenheim. A great looking plane but made for an earlier era. Still did a great job despite the odds.

Nice shots Qcumber.

Love the Blenheim too. If you can and haven’t already, it’s worth visiting their little workshop. They have all sorts of pics and paperwork pertaining to the Blenheim. I want one of the cars they used to make out of the cockpits 😄.

Had a nightmare journey up this time. Took me an hour to do 15 miles when I left home. Closed the Motorway, I still had a good couple of hours journey to do. We picked the right day though. Sunday was a proper June day.

Forum won’t let me upload any pics.
