Makes me want one of those lenses, you get right on top of em with it. Love the light in the PR Spit shot. Like that Pony one too. 

I’d need that monopod too and someone to carry it all . Might start writing to Santa, see how it goes?

My Tamron 150-500mm is heavy but not as heavy as most. I mainly hand hold although I do have a monopod and gimbal head tripod. With second camera and a couple of other lenses, a folding stool, waterproofs etc., it adds up to quite a lot of weight!

Years ago I’d use a little palm sized camcorder and mostly film everything. A little bag with batteries and spare tapes was no bother to carry.

These days it can get a bit much. I take a backpack camera bag with two cameras, a long and short lens, prime lenses sometimes, batteries, a cleaning kit and god knows what else. Lugging it about can be a bit of a pain and I’ve had my eye on one of these ‘camping cart’ type things. I’ve told Mrs Slippa she can be in charge of it when the show’s over as I could hop in too, maybe have a nap but she hits me every time I mention it. 

Wonder what she’ll make of my long lens idea? I almost bought an extender for the last trip but read they can be dodgy at focusing with ‘sports’ photography and left it for now. I know someone else with a beast too and his pics keep tempting me into getting one. Would be ideal for Duxford, apart from the extra luggage o course.

The big wing in flight. 15 spitfires and 6 hurricanes. The view watching them all take off was amazing. Unfortunately I did not video it!

What I remember vividly from my visit there, which has been years ago at this point, is that videos do not do it proper justice usually, and it is sometimes more worthwhile to just enjoy the moment.

Thought you’d be there Q, cracking shot too 

First time I’ve seen an Anson fly as well. The only airworthy example . A lot of my shots were the worst I’ve ever taken. I tried out an extender for the 1-400 but somehow I kept buggering it all up. Great show though. Nightmare getting out of there. Instead of going home we stayed in a gorgeous 15th Century Hotel, gorgeous meal, beautiful place

I think we saw you on Sunday Q? Mrs Slippa asked about the lens you had on. She came back and told me what it was and I told her I reckon that was Qcumber , may not have been? Did you see this fella? He was playing the themetune to Kellys Heroes from it rolling around at mobility scooter speeds, cracked me up. Even had an articulating turret and barrel 

Oh, while the fighter balbo flew overhead one of the Blenheim fellas came and had a chat with me. Apparently the little ‘old workshop’ I was on about before is still open but will close this year. He asked me if I was coming in October he’d show us a few bits so if you wanna cop a look around do so before the season finale

Great shots. I'll try to get more of mine on.

I was there on Sunday but did not have my big lens. My back was playing up so I had to travel light. I had a 18-300 mm lens and found that it is not that great at the long end. I was down at the far east end near the Aircraft Restoration Company hanger. 

I did not see the mini tank. I wish I had. Looks hilarious.
