If you want to play as a JTAC/scout, work with team mates etc. and STILL be able to blow some stuff up yourself (just not as much especially heavy armour), then the KW is a lot of fun. I like doing quite a lot of stuff, but its all solo unfortunately, so not sure how the jtac/scout role fits in with the AI yet.

Yeah I think it's harder to find a use for it in SP, as you've no-one to pass data and intel to. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Soul's pit thread

I'm really trying hard to find a reason to get it, but I just cant find the justification so far. It was actually an off the cuff comment by Casmo that convinced me to wait. This is the first DCS module I haven't purchased, so kind of a change for me and I might end up with it 'just because', like far too many other modules. I also do single player and while the more advanced airframe is tempting I have, at last count, six helos, of which I (attempt to) fly two and a half occasionally with one more on pre-order that may or may not end up oxidizing in the hanger. That's not counting the hangers full of jets and props that are also oxidizing because I only fly a few of those with any regularity. Doesn't mean Polychop didn't do an amazing job and if it had gone on sale in pre-order I probably would have jumped in, just not necessarily a fit for my flying habits. For $70 I can wait a bit and see how I feel about it later.

I just took a look at my order history and i've never payed that much for any one module, ever....

I dont know, but I enjoy this bird a lot. 2 Before you call everything a "bug": RTFM & try again! Go home, thread's done its job! Seriously though, I'm glad you've found it as fun as I do, and I'm glad it was just as fun, if not more fun, than I was hoping it'd be. 1

If I end up flying the KW for more than 55hrs I'll have paid less than £1/hr of fun. Pretty good value (to me at least). I've probably put in 10-15 hrs already.... I made a mission just yesterday where I provide reconnaissance for a convoy going from one place to another, with an enemy position/checkpoint in between. I spot the checkpoint, and can either destroy it, or call in heavier air support (2 AH-64s). Since I put the enemy forces in, I already know where they are, and the waypoints programmed for the 64s are already based on that, but if you were just playing the mission without knowing, it would feel like you're discovering the enemy troops, passing on that information, and the Apache team coming in and taking care of business based on your intel. It can be done, it's just not live and organic like how MP can work. 2
Oldcrow Jr. 62 Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Love that idea RONiN. Sounds great. I believe that in the mission editor you can position enemy points, friendly points and randomize which ones activate and in random locations when you run the missions. And can set triggers up so that if one shows up, another unit activates randomly. Not sure how you do it, but I believe it can be done. Even if you already have an idea where the units are, they'll show up randomly and at least give you some variation and "surprises" when you fly. Until we get a dynamic Falcon 4.0 style persistent campaign for SP and MP added, I guess things like this will have to do. But I can only imagine how much better, varied and exciting DCS would be if we had that included. One can only hope, someday soon.
