Currently, the same type of tree and other structures used by DCS are not shared between different maps.

On each of the maps, there are many duplicate GBs.

It is not difficult to install in root DCS Core the items that all the maps share, so that there is no need to duplicate maps, because at this rate we will not have space with so many GB...

I would imagine that DCS Earth will use dome sort of "asset library" to populate Earth locations based on geography. 

I doubt buildings in Sinai would fit Marianas or Kandahar would be fitting onto Caucasus landscape. However, there are many objects that are common, such as US military installations, and in fact NTTR map had objects such as "bagram shelter" so yes these are reused in sense of development but to reuse these across maps I think Terrain TDK would need significant rewrite
