Arink429 Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Hi. I'm building my own dogfightboss cockpit adapted for winwing MIPs and a couple of displays for IFEI and stby instruments/RWR. As a new Helios user i'm findind a lot of problems. If I visualice the MIPs, I'm unable to see the RWR, and if I switch the saved Helios cofiguration on DCS menu I can see the RWR but the MIPs show blank. I guess it must be an export lua issue. Some lights on this? Thank you. Wostg Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Hope I understand you correctly, but basically you need to stop using Simapppro for everything but the UFC and lighting: you can't use both simapppro and helios for screen exports at the same time, so dcs needs to be set to run the helios monitor config, screen size set to 3440x2464 (or whatever based on your setup) and not winwing simapppro is only running to control the led readuts on the ufc and lighting helios does the mip screen exports to their 3 monitors, and also your IFEI/RWR on your 4th, 5th etc on mine, the mip monitors are set to portrait 768x1024, each display is set to 768x768 and placed at the bottom of the helios view (the top section being covered by the buttons) 1 I can think of nothing heavier than an airplane I can think of no greater conglomerate of steel and metal I can think of nothing less likely to fly
Arink429 Posted May 12, 2024 Author Posted May 12, 2024 Thanks, Wostg. How can I use SimappPro for the UFC work only, without exporting their 3 screens? Is there any option for deactivate this? Every time I select the customized Helios resolution in DCS, the SimappPro option "set MFD display" turns red. My combined screen size is set to 5152x1536. Thank you. Helios does not export screens. It just helps you write the monitor config file, and adds some viewport names for those that have only mfd_right etc. You don't need Helios at all if you know how to manually write the config file. Exporting instruments is another matter entirely.Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 2
Wostg Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 MAXsenna above is entirely correct, but Helios does make it all easy, once you've figured it out. Set up all your Helios MFDs to manage your exported screens + IFEI etc - this is the video which helped me understand it: On Simappro's Game Peripheral Display / Set MFD display page, deselect the 3 FA18 MFDs monitors with the blank space. Ensure DCS is set to: null (or whatever resolution as appropriate) The exported viewports should be then working. Switch on any widgets created with the Control Center and you should be good to go, in-game 2 I can think of nothing heavier than an airplane I can think of no greater conglomerate of steel and metal I can think of nothing less likely to fly
Arink429 Posted May 12, 2024 Author Posted May 12, 2024 Solved. Now all work properly. Thank you very much for your help! 2 ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X HERO WiFi AC / i7-8700K@5.0 GHz / 2xM.2 Toshiba OCZ RD400 1Tb / 4xCorsair 8Gb (32Gb) DDR4@3000 MHz / 2xGeforce GTX 1080 Ti + 1Geforce GTX 680 / SoundBlaster Fatal1ty / Windows 10 Home x64 / TM Warthog / TM TPR Pedals / Oculus Rift / Samsung UE32EH5000W
Arink429 Posted May 13, 2024 Author Posted May 13, 2024 And here the first test video. All screens and gauges working well. 1 ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X HERO WiFi AC / i7-8700K@5.0 GHz / 2xM.2 Toshiba OCZ RD400 1Tb / 4xCorsair 8Gb (32Gb) DDR4@3000 MHz / 2xGeforce GTX 1080 Ti + 1Geforce GTX 680 / SoundBlaster Fatal1ty / Windows 10 Home x64 / TM Warthog / TM TPR Pedals / Oculus Rift / Samsung UE32EH5000W

I would like to use helios instead of simapp to export MFDs and UFC for all aircraft as well. I hate the way Winwing did it so the left and right MFDs in the F18 have the visible area around the black that bleeds through in VR. I have never used Helios before. Any chance you could post your helios settings for the F18? System Specs: 13900K, Strix Z790 Gaming E, MSI 4090 Sprim Liquid X OC'd, 64gb Gskill Trident Z DDR5, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 SSD,. Winwing throttle, Winwing panels/MIPs and VKB GF3/MCGU stick, MFG Crosswind V2, HP REVERB G2.

So you solved it using only the Helios interface and exporting all your data to the new WinWing Display ? No more SimApp Pro ? Or using It for other purposes ? Thanks ! TaiChi

Ditch Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Potentially helpful. This solution worked for me:
