MFG Crosswind Pedals & Hydraulic Damper - Finally bit the bullet

In the decades I've been flight simming, I've never had a set of rudder pedals.  If I'm honest, I always preferred the twist-stick method of rudder control.  Meant I didn't have to spend the extra hundreds of dollars I didn't have to get rudder control and I grew to love it with my MS FFB2.  However, with Winwing throttle and stick, twist isn't an option.

I went with MFG instead of WinWing, despite having WinWing throttle and stick, ... because I forgot WinWing had rudder pedals.  lol  In my research, I've seen nothing but good things about the MFG, so I'm hoping they're as good for me.

I've put off rudder pedals for a long time but today I finally decided to bite the bullet and ordered the pedals and the hydraulic damper kit.

I'm honestly kind of excited - I think I can finally really fly  the Apache now as I've often avoided using it because it's so hard to control without good rudder input.  It's also nice I'll finally have a rudder axis that isn't a button on my throttle that I'm constantly tapping to steer around.  Same with MSFS.

I'm hoping it'll be here by the weekend since today isn't a holiday in Italy.

I'm pretty happy with mine. I have the hydraulic damper too but found even on the easiest setting it's too stiff for helis so put it away for those.

They're really well designed and put together, should last a while and take a good kicking.

Enjoy 🙂.

Surprise, surprise!  DHL dropped them off today!

One thing I'll mention as it wasn't obvious to me or in any documentation (kinda hard to find, YouTube is your friend) is that when you use the config software, make sure you look at the "VIRTUAL BUTTON" box in yellow and check the box.  Then they will show up in DCS so you can use them.  If the box is unchecked, the toe brake function will not work in DCS.
