MadMonty Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 I downloaded XR Neck Safer yesterday and now I don't know if everything is working properly - I'm a little doubtful at the moment. I was able to set up the software and also calibrate / centre the headset. However, if I then want to enlarge my view to the rear, the same thing always happens - regardless of the method (smooth, gradual ...). For example, if I look to the rear right (e.g. 100°) and tell the software to extend my view by 40° (to 140°), my VR view turns to the rear by 140°, but a black screen appears on both eyes on the left. It's as if the view is rotating to 140°, but my headset is at 100° and I can only see the 140° view on the right edge of my field of view and a black screen on the left (as a delta between 100° and 140°). If I extend it to 180°, my vision is nearly completly black. That can't be intentional, can it? Does anyone know the problem? I have not yet copied in any api/dll, as described in some forums. Could that be the problem? Of course I am running DCS in OpenXR and not SteamVR. jcenzano Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 I do not know exactly the technical explanation behind it, but I had, not the same, but a problem with some similarities and I solved it but changing the order of the OpenXR layers. Check this thread. I hope it helps.Sent from my SM-A528B using Tapatalk 1 1
yogibaboo Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 The two methods that helped me with various xrnecksafer issues: - Closing WMR before starting DCS and let the simulator start it automatically - solved issue with a black screen that was covering the DCS UI (not sure this is the same issue you have though) - Having VR goggles on while starting DCS - solved issue with shifting center of rotation while looking back. Good luck!
Nedum Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Hi, it would be nice if you could show us your settings (a picture says more than 1000 words). I have to enable NS, start DCS, start a mission, recenter, and restart DCS. After that, NS is working. Will try the Tool @jcenzano posted. VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 You may wish to check if in the XRNeckSafter app has your "VR Center View" key map set. When in DCS VR, switch over to the XRNectkSafer app to see if there is a message saying the view has been centered or not. Once you have made the view centered, it may work. I Fly, Therefore I Am. That tool immediately solved my issue and NS is running just perfect, Since I use a motion platform and the new Qubic seat belt tensioner is waiting to arrive, I just added a seat belt to my seat and I have to admit, that turning my head is now even more restricted. So NS is a perfect solution! Thank you all for your help! 1 PC: Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming | AMD Ryzen 7800X3D | Palit GeForce RTX 4090 Game Rock OC | 64 GB Patriot VIPER VENOM DDR5-6000 Input: Brunner CLS-E FFB Base | Thrustmaster Warthog Joystick & Throttle | Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder | WinWing Phoenix MIP (VR) - F16 ICP - PTO2 | VPC SharKA-50 Collective VR: Pimax Crystal Super 50PPD Motion-Platform: Motionsystems PS-6TM-150 | Monstertech MTX Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@madmontys6dofmotionplatfor386/featured
