monkie Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Twice now I've been giving the AI a turn command by holding down the turn key and when I release the AI continues the turn and will not stop or reverse the turn. If I disconnect the autopilot the helicopter enters an extreme rolling motion and sometimes complletes 360 rolls in a few seconds. It's usually unrecoverable. cthulhu68 Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Turn on AI HUD overlay and you'll see what's happening. AI doesn't react instantly and tales a while to catch up so if you're speeding up when you release the indicator may be moved to 60 knots but you're only doing 50 so it continues speeding up. When disengaging AI your controls will be trimmed to wherever they were when you handed off, not where AI has them currently so I use control indicator overlay to put them close to where you think they should be before disengaging.
monkie Posted June 10, 2024 Author Posted June 10, 2024 Negative, the AI overlay was on, it was ignoring the commanded red triangle, the AI just kept turning and when I commanded the release control the helicopter immediately rolled 360 2 or 3 times before impacting, I had no way of counteracting anything. I've disengaged the AP many times, I understand what you are saying but this is not the issue in these cases. All I can say is that it's acting like a bug.
