Advanced mission planner

Features:

-Type specific turn radii given GW at waypoint. Accounting for anticipated fuel burned and ordinance expended. THis is important when planning high speed ingress and egresss routes in elevated terrain for masking.

-Time between waypoints

-CG, load, and drag calculator

-Fuel usage detail. Fuel used on start, idle , to T/O. Predicted fuel burn rate for specific type for GW and drag and altitiude with temp deviations.  --Application predicted/reccomeded vs user specified fuel.

-comms, crpto, and IFF codes

-Sortie marshalling. Departure and arrival order

-Increase player control to 16 AI aircraft package.  We'll settle for 8.

-Mixed type package AI aircraft formations.

In flight player to AI commands.

-Attack enemy ground targets in formation. Single formation attack. Sequential attack

-Radio silent formation light or nav light flash communication (automated)

-In flight radio sllence command

The planner could use some enhancements. The entire briefing process could actually. The displayed threat list is annoying since it shows everything, including units hidden on the planner. The lack of waypoint and radio/TACAN information is painful.

One note on anything related to route planning and ATC management and coordination, the ME doesn't know how to properly account for uncontrolled or late activation units. It just assumes that these will start at mission start time. Ideally this should change to make working and planning with these units easier. Proposals around this have been made before:

Awaiting: DCS F-15C

Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files

Yep.  Needs a massive overhaul.  I'm hoping this (along with proper DTC integration) will be part of the DCE changes when that eventually launches, as mission planning will be critical to any well fought campaign.

I think that the mission planner, and mission editor should be two completely separate entities.  At the moment they are legacy systems which are very limited and there are far better examples of how it can be done, even going decades back, so technology limitations do not apply.

Please de-acronym DTC and DCE

DTC - Data Transfer Cartridge, so you can pre-load pertinent mission data, like threat rings, countermeasure settings, Comms ladder, etc.

DCE - DCS upcoming Dynamic Campaign Engine, on which many hopes are pinned and much is expected.
