Blackeye Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 When turning my head in VR the reflection in the mirror lags behind the actual movement a bit, which I find quite distracting. This looks somewhat like a motion smoothing feature with an overly long integration period but I'm not sure. In the F-14 the head movements in the mirror are responsive, so it would be cool if this could be implemented in the F-4E as well. 3

I Keep the mirrors off so it’s not distracting. - - - The only real mystery in life is just why kamikaze pilots wore helmets? - - -
RedeyeStorm Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 (edited) I also found the mirrors enormous resource Hogs. With mirrors running a DCE mission I am down to roughly 12 fps. Without mirrors it is around 30 in the pit. It is the only module where I have to turn the mirros off. Regretably. Edited June 21, 2024 by RedeyeStorm 1
G.J.S Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Is this something that can be rectified? Of the other modules I possess, none exhibit any lag of the visible head in mirrors, so as far as can see this only afflicts the F-4. I vaguely recall in a post (that I can no longer find) someone posted text from a HB dev (?) regarding the in cockpit stick, or part of - lagging behind actual stick movement, reason being that in time movement exhibits shaking, that the small lag eradicates? Could the reason for the crew lag be the same, and only on the F-4? - - - The only real mystery in life is just why kamikaze pilots wore helmets? - - -
Zabuzard Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Yes, it is because animations are smoothed and interpolated in order to not look silly and choppy.By design this adds (small) lag. Its a compromise. Its not an issue with the mirrors, they just reveal what's going on with your virtual pilot model. We are aware of the issue, it's on the list. Cheers.

Feuerfalke Posted February 3 Posted February 3 It would be nice if this could be made an option then, because most of the time you fly it from first person view and then the lag is really annoying. 1 MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
