Hi Cayenne,

No problem, there are 2 different ways you can go about it:

1) Open the game, and goto the options , and click on the "controls" tab.

- select the appropriate mode you are flying in "KA50 Real" or "KA50 Game" (these are completely independent controls)

- Assuming you are using "KA50 Real", then on the next dropdown box, select ""Ins Cyclic Stick" .. this will filter the commands that only exist on teh Cyclic control.

- Look for the command "Hover on/off

- on that row, look accross and find the column called "Saitek X52Flight controller"

- Double-click on that row/column box , and it will open up a windows called "add assigment Panel"

- in there, select the field called "key/button" , and then click the button on your X52 that you with to use for this function ...it will then populate that field with the button name ("joy_btn5" for eg).

- Click on "Ok", then "ok" again at the bottom.

- Now, the button you have assigned will activate that function when flying.

2) Alternatively, you can use the Saitek SST profiler , which you would ned to download and install from Saitek

- In the SST software, create a new profile, and assign the key combo "Alt-T" to the button you want to use.

- Make sure to load the SST profile you created when playing black shark

Cayenne is right

- much of combinations (if not all) with ALT, RALT... don't work - in other games they behave as they have to.

Maybe the DCS reads input somehow so it ignores some part of information dispatched by x52 soft.

And maybe is the problem on the side of Saitek - my version of SST Profiler can't even assign RSHIFT as key (or shift-state).

We wish to use the potencial of SST Profiler (Diferent modes and multiple shiftstates) so we don't want to hard-bind some controls to the joy unprofiled.

Please, take at least a little look at it, it's very very confusing that we can't assign even the autopilot toggles or autohover to the damn x52.

Thanks a lot in advance - DCS is a piece of good work!

thanks for advice - i'll make sure to check new soft

and sorry for such noobish problem.

btw - i own x52 non-pro too - hope it will last some time

i downloaded and installed new SST (v6.6.4.10) - and it didn't solved the problem for me - the RSHIFT... are already assignable , testing utility which is part of the SST Profiler shows that combinations with them works now.

BUT :

When i tried the joystick output with assigning it (profiled - SHIFT+P , RSHIFT+P ...) to some commands in controls (DCS - options) then everything works well and the output from SST works flawlessly as another keybord - binding profiled keystrokes, but when i try to toggle i.e. AutoPitch (LSHIFT+P) in the game it ignores LSHIFT and acts only as P (cannon track/bore). (i have it profiled as <Mode1+Pinkie>+<HAT2_left> but that doesn't matter).

I'll try complete wipe of drivers/soft and clean install of them, maybe clean install of OS. what else can i do ... :(

I have an x52 and left alt, right alt, left shift, right shift all work as they should.

This wasnt the case when I first bought it but a software update added the function.

SST Version 6.2.2.0

The way I did it was to use the SST software and use "New Advanced Command" not "Macro"

Be aware that it records exactly how you press the keys on the keyboard.

Pressing one key once will give you 2 key icons in the lil window, 1 for press, 1 for release so just press "Lalt T" as you would in game and it should work. :)

Hello Cayenne. Sorry I can't tell you what to do in the profiler.

Instead, if you look for a workaround - you can assign all the stuff you need directly in DCS:BS using this method: Small tip for x52pro users

.. At least until someone else is able to point you in the right direction with the profiler :)

Hi Washer_UK, THANKS A LOT ! With 'Advanced command' everything works well, i didn't even need to reinstall the driver (i've got the one downloaded with sst v6.1.xx).

I just recommend to check the little 'macro' box when assigning a keystroke (it'll prevent from breaking the combo when you click the button too fast) and 'quantize' commands (shorten delays - right click on some...) to some about 0.03 s.

i downloaded and installed new SST (v6.6.4.10)...

...

SD v6.6.4.10 (and some older) right on saitek ftp:
