Hey Everyone,

If you're into DCS (Digital Combat Simulator) like me, you might be wondering if attending Flight Sim Expo is worth it. Here's why I think it's a great idea:

  1. Meet the Developers: Imagine getting to chat with the minds behind hardware used for DCS and other flight sims. Flight Sim Expo brings together developers from all over, including those who create the environments we love in DCS.  Orbx (creators of the Kola Map) were in attendance at this years expo in Las Vegas.

  2. Hands-On Demos: Experience new hardware and software firsthand. You can try out new flight controls, VR setups, and possibly even get a sneak peek at upcoming modules or updates for your favorite flight sims.

  3. Workshops and Seminars: Learn from experts in various fields related to flight simulation. Whether it's mastering complex avionics or getting insights into mission planning, there's something for everyone.

  4. Community Networking: Connect with fellow DCS enthusiasts and content creators. Share tips, tricks, and stories from the virtual skies with people who understand your passion.  I enjoyed meeting/talking with Juice from Air Warfare Group, and Jon aka Bogey Dope at this year's conference.

  5. Exclusive Discounts: Many exhibitors offer special discounts and deals during the expo. It's a great chance to upgrade your setup or grab that module you've been eyeing.

  6. Location, Location, Location: Next year's expo will be in Providence Rhode Island, making it accessible to many of us. It's a perfect opportunity to explore a new city while indulging in our shared hobby.

Overall, Flight Sim Expo isn't just for general flight simmers—it's a must for anyone serious about DCS. If you're on the fence, trust me, it's worth checking out.  I had a great time at this year's Expo hanging out with some friends and enjoying everything the Expo had to offer in Las Vegas.

Actually thinking about it for next year. Expos tend to make you want to buy more stuff than you need. Great pics BTW.

Hahaha yes they do, and thanks. But it was awesome to try all of the controllers on the same day.  Also the majority of the vendors either had DCS or MSFS 2020 to demo their products.  So not only could you try out a Virpil, Thrustmaster, or WinWing product but you could also try it out while flying in DCS.

I did not get a pic but Pimax headsets were being used to demo the VR side of flight sims.  Did not get a chance but I did want to try out one of those Pimax headsets.

It was also interesting to see that a lot of MSFS users also enjoy flying in DCS 👍.
