PB0_CEF Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 (edited) Well, I know that the only way to move a static template is to shift copy every single unit and then copy past it where you want to move it on the map. I didn't find any tools to do it with a more user friendly method First question : is it existing somewhere ? Second question : If not isn't it possible to use the .STM file to modify each objet coordinates using a reference point coordinate on the map where you want to put this template (compare reference point coordinates and shift every objet coordinates accordingly) ? I remembered that this kind of method was used with IL2 (old one) and there were a vast library of templates easy to put on the map ... it was possible to orientate the template too but for beginning just moving a FARP anywhere on a map would be really usefull. Of course I'm not a programmer at all so it could be more difficult to do than I think that's why it doesn't exists yep Edited June 30, 2024 by PB0_CEF 3 All known Dynamic Campaign Engine Campaigns Last DCE news : Crisis in PG - Iran-Iraq War - TF-71 - TF80s - War over Beirut ...
ienatom Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Apparently you can modify the mission.lua but you need to insert each model name manually and it's coordinates too. It should be a feature 1 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, RAM: 4x16GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600 CL16, GPU: Gigabyte RX6800XT Aorus Master, MB: Gigabyte X570 Aorus ultra My userfile content is available here (liveries, mods and whatnot)

Would you mind to share all this work when this tool will be available ? I think I will open a new topic to detail the use of this tool when available… It may need a little organization to classify all templates and make it easily usable anywhere ( pictures, size, orientation, etc) 1 All known Dynamic Campaign Engine Campaigns Last DCE news : Crisis in PG - Iran-Iraq War - TF-71 - TF80s - War over Beirut ...

Nice ! Of course ASTI will mainly be usable with more generic templates than air base templates which only seem usable on a specific air base. The goal is to be able to import templates anywhere to help mission creators easily populate their missions with pre-existing templates without having to reconstruct them object by object. The templates that are relatively compact and independent of the map elements will therefore be more easily usable I think. Personally I am starting to create a small library of protected artillery or SAM positions and small forts or FARPS that can be used anywhere.... Ideally I would like to be able to group this by theme with perhaps an encyclopedia style document that shows what the template looks like, its dimensions and its basic orientation. Yes, I understand.. in essence you are revamping the current Unit Templates, making them able to hold Statics and more than one Group, but keeping their ability to be easily placed anywhere and on any orientation. 1 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
PB0_CEF Posted September 29, 2024 Author Posted September 29, 2024 Yes ! It can contain live units too ! Here is a simple example of protected SA-2 site I made for testing purpose : This template with live SA-2 was made on Caucasus map and imported on Kola map We can change orientation or delete it without selecting each object ! 3 All known Dynamic Campaign Engine Campaigns Last DCE news : Crisis in PG - Iran-Iraq War - TF-71 - TF80s - War over Beirut ...
