RafaPolit Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Good afternoon. I previously bought, as a gift, FC3 for my nephew. I want to upgrade his subscription to FC 2024, yet, when I try the add-as-gift option, I am invoiced the full amount of the package, not taking into account that the target account already has the license which will entitle them to the discount (without even taking into account that the person that did the original purchase was also me, which shouldn't be relevant). How can we resolve this? Thanks. I'm Dragon in the Multiplayer servers.

Ran into the same when I was gonna gift a user the A-10C II upgrade. Ended up PayPaling him. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

Technically you're not the owner of FC3 so the discount does not apply to you. The receiver would get a discount if he was to buy himself. I'd contact support - they might be able to help, worth trying. 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
RafaPolit Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) I agree I'm not the owner. He, however, owns the module. Buying the upgrade must, definitely, apply for the discount. The fact that I'm buying it instead of him should make no difference if HE is already the owner of the module. That's why I mentioned that me having bought the original gift should not be relevant to the equation. 11 hours ago, draconus said: I'd contact support - they might be able to help, worth trying. Since this is the Customer Support forum, I thought that that is what I was doing! Edited July 12, 2024 by RafaPolit I'm Dragon in the Multiplayer servers.

True, it's the correct forum, mostly. But like I wrote, it's an edge case, and you're better off with a support ticket. I don't believe the EShop will check the status of other user accounts for you. I hope you solve it. Your nephew is a lucky one! Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
draconus Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 I wanted to buy FC2024 as a gift for another user. We both own FC3. When I want to buy for myself the store offers me $9.99 price. When I select "buy as a gift" it goes full price $59.99. So I contacted ED support and they told me the E-Shop cannot check the other user's licenses so the store offers only full price. The case is not closed but I can't see them helping here. 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
RafaPolit Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 Thanks. I did the same, they suggest that I log in with my Nephew's account and make the purchase. It's not a solution, and the notion of everyone just sharing login credentials and payment options is a bit on the frustrating side to be honest. But yeah, I can see the logic of not simply just "telling" you that the other account has the module or not, that's private information. Difficult thing to solve. draconus Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Case closed and the message is clear - no FC2024 upgrade is possible to be gifted in the E-Shop. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
