Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so admins, please feel free to move it to the appropriate section if necessary.

I've created a mission that uses two mods: Sam Site Assets Pack and Massun92-human pack. The mission works perfectly in single-player mode and also when I run it on my own server. However, we recently rented a dedicated server, and on this server, none of the assets from these mods are visible.The server owner mentioned something about client-server or possibly server-server mods. I’m not entirely sure what this means or how it affects our setup.

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue?

Thanks in advance for your help!

System:

Win11 Pro, X870Pro RS Wifi 7 AM5, AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, Corsair MP400 SSD (1TB for WIN), Corsair MP700 PRO (2TB for DCS), VR PIMAX Crystal.

You need to install mods that are not in the core onto the server as well. How else would the server know about them? Your clients need to install them too.

The thing is, they are both installed at client and server side, that’s why I don’t understand what the issue is!?

Ooops! Misread your post. Have you looked for clues in the log files?

I see exactly the same problem, and this is in the server log. Did you sort it?

Where on the server did you install the mods. DCS Core installation folders or Saved Games for the user running 5he server?

@Gideon312 what about you?

Cheers!

We ended up figuring it out. I was guiding a bunch of guys who had recently started playing DCS and set up a server for it. As such, the M92 mod was installed incorrectly into the "mods/tech" folder in the server's install folder structure (where only 'official' mods are allowed). I told him to move he mod to the community mods/tech folder instead (under the "Saved Games" structure) and he confirmed he'd done it. I double checked and they were there, but the units still didn't show up in game. I checked the logs and saw a few lines that indicated something still wasn't right:

I then asked the guys to check whether the mods where now in two locations, and it turned out they were. So, instead of moving the mods they had just copied them, so those community mods where still in the 'official' mods folder, which is why DCS blocked them as "not authorized". Once they had removed the duplicates from the official mods folder structure, it worked fine.

@moggel Excellent! Common mistake, and happens regularly. Mod is installed in Core, and not removed when installed in Saved Games. Why I always recommend performing a full repair after it's installed correctly on Saved Games.
Cheers!
