QLED or Micro-OLED for VR

I've been thinking about my future PC and VR headset upgrade. For VR,  I've been look at the Pimax Super QLED and Micro-OLED. There also the option to get both in one package. I just watched an update from Pimax on YouTube and they said the QLED will be available first with a 50ppd lens while they also talked about a 57ppd lens being developed. I'm assuming that the 57ppd is for the OLED.

Which do you think would look better in DCS?

Hard to tell.  If the pixel count is lower with the Micro-OLED, then it will be less demanding and offering better performance.  What is puzzling here is that the 57ppd lens would mean a lower FOV if the panels are, as indcated, 4k each.  FOV is important as well.  Even the QLED 50ppd with a whopping 29 M Pixels will require a monster GPU.  Hell, my 4090 is not even powerfull enough to fully output what my 8KX can do.

In any case, wait and see what the first reviews will say about this. Only then, consider upgrading.

I think that's good advice, I'm just really not liking the Quest 3 for DCS. For other games it works really well, but that may also be because ED hasn't put very much effort into DCS optimization, let alone DCS in VR.

I would probably only pull the trigger with good reviews and availability of a 5090.

My first upgrade anyway is CPU/MB/Memory when AMD 9000 is out, and then probably wait for the x3d version.

did you put the deposit down on the QLED or the OLED? I am looking to figure this out as well as to which one for DCS

QLED, my final decision was that Pimax said that the QLED would be ready first, has the most orders. And took WipeOut's advice on the FOV. I assume we will be able to buy the other at a later date as they are interchangeable lenses. Going to need a 5090 I think.
