Kadin Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 The right brake axis does not work properly. I have tested it in the Fw190s, Bf109, F18, I-16. I think it is a global issue affecting all planes. I noticed that on the Axis Panel under fine tuning the IN and OUT box have ALWAYS a value and cannot be replaced by any other value. This affects also the collective braking. The right brake does not hold when the collective braking axis is activated. This behavior started with the latest update.
MAXsenna Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 This patch messed up a lot of axis. Double check for conflicts.Collective braking? If I understand you correctly, only the left and right brake axis should be bound respectively, and not the single axis of course. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
Kadin Posted July 19, 2024 Author Posted July 19, 2024 MAXsenna, in a lot of planes there is also an axis for both wheel brakes at same time. The problem is the independent right wheel brake axis that seems to keep sending input even when it is not pressed. One visit to axis section and on the right wheel brake axis, fine tune tab, you will see the IN and OUT boxes are not 0.
Kadin Posted July 19, 2024 Author Posted July 19, 2024 I am using the MFG Crosswind and after three recalibrations, DCS right wheel brake axis is back to 0 when not pressed. However, now both axes are extremely sensitive and they jump to 50% with the lightest touch. Something is off. At the calibration utility the numbers are correct 3%, 5% at light touch. I will keep trying different approaches just to see if I can shed some useful information.
rob10 Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 I have the same pedals and it's working fine for me in F-18. I'd try a repair on your DCS or possibly plug them into a different USB port (check that it's fully seated). This seems to be a problem on your end rather than a general DCS problem.
Solution Kadin Posted July 20, 2024 Author Solution Posted July 20, 2024 Rob10, I think I agree. I updated to the latest firmware and after a few calibrations, windows restarts, tinkering (the default pedal settings did it!) and a windows calibration (which allegedly I shouldn't use) finally I got them to behave. All zeros and although the bars for wheel brakes jump to the middle in the axis control section, inside the mission they seem to be working properly. I have done a DCS repair this morning, btw. The rudder pedals have been working fine for more than a couple of years now, so I looked at the latest change which was the update. Anyway, thank you everybody that paid attention to my issue. 1

When one does have pedals with toe brakes, this binding should not be used. That's what I was trying to say. If one bind this axis to the left or the right pedal. Of course one cannot then bind the axis again. Axis' can only be bound once. Happy you have solved your issue. Like I wrote, the update has made a lot of axis being reset. So you have conflicts, others have been reset to default, and are not set as sliders and inverted anymore, as pedals should be in most modules. Cheers!
