SkyWalkers Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 I’ve been doing campaign lately and I found some confusing and frustrating bugs on some missions. M01: The second pair of F-16s did not come in to land. They just turned back and flew toward the ocean. I think someone already reported this bug. M10: After me and my wingman destroyed the AAA that attacking the A-10s, the A-10s continued to attack the fuel trucks. But then the radio went silent, no more talking, no more conversation… all AI aircrafts just holding over the AO. The last message was from an A-10 that said “bombs away” and I didn’t know if those bombs hit the targets. We were just holding over the IP for like 10-15 minutes until we hit Bingo which then triggered a pop up menu. We called for RTB and the mission progressed as normal from that point. On the debrief, it said there was 1 more AAA that I didn’t destroy and I was like I never know it exists. M11: After I hit wrong the target that was hiding in the woods, we were asked to continue to monitor the damaged bridge. My lead called me to rejoin, and I did. And that was the last message for the entire mission, the radio went silent from that point. I was just looking at the bridge, check for any F10 option to report but there is none. The mission simply didn’t progress from that point… all the AI aircraft just holding over the AO again, even I tried to burn some fuel to hit Bingo, hoping for the pop up menu like the last mission to RTB but there is none. Despite experiencing some hiccups, I have to say I still love the campaign very much. It’s highly immersive and exactly what I’m looking in DCS. I just wish there is an option to call for RTB at anytime just in case something went wrong, and then we can debrief later.
Solution baltic_dragon Posted July 24, 2024 Solution Posted July 24, 2024 Hey @SkyWalkers thanks for these! M01: internally fixed, hope to get it into the next hot fix. M10: I didn't write additional lines for the A-10s, something indeed got messed up because normally your wingman should report bingo shortly after last AAA and then you would RTB without waiting for too long. I have this on my list to look into and fix again. M11: there seem to be an issue with bombing task in DCS right now, it is possible that we will have to wait for a fix from ED. Later in the same mission some people reported that AI F-15 flight failed to attack their target for exactly the same reason as B1s for you. I'll see if I can fix this - but it may be up to ED to do that. Glad you are enjoying the campaign! Adding RTB option at any moment and debriefing later sounds like a good idea, but would be a real nightmare from Mission Editor / programming point of view (already the debriefings at the end were a real headache). So I don't think I'll even start to tackle this... For more information, please visit my website. Py Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 I've had the same bugs (stuck on M11 currently), but in M10 I had a look around to try and find what was stuck. The A-10s did several drops then seemed to be stuck orbiting, #1 and #2 had 2 CBUs remaining, #3 had 4 remaining, and I didn't check #4. Flying in front of them to disrupt them didn't work. I was kinda hoping they'd do a gun run on the trucks I got bored waiting and did a gun run on the trucks. That revealed the 3rd AAA when it opened fire on me, and when I destroyed it the wingman called bingo and I could complete the mission. As far as I remember there was no indication to find a 3rd AAA but maybe I missed it. I know how hard it is to make DCS AI do what you want, so thanks for the effort in making this campaign!
jeffmaysefaith79 Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 I have noticed that sometimes the debriefing doesn't show up, just the original briefing. Could be a me problem since I can't seem to hit anything I bomb anymore lol "You should fly a fighter aircraft one inch from out of control at all times in a purposeful way" -Willie Driscoll USN (ret)
