ZON Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 I have been using Trackir 5 pro for over ten years, and since Trackir was finally killed, a few months ago I started looking for his successor. I found 3 videos introducing Aimxy on youtube, one of which was produced and released by the famous Grim Reapers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87BxAVoE560 The other is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IdYI5BPsXU And a very short demo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwVLeAkz_ew The Amazon link is: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYKFDWXN You can see many people’s comments on the link I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09X7FQJHZ If you're in Europe, you can buy it here: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0CQNPM7TJ Before buying, I tried some interesting solutions, such as ViewTracker and Beam Eye Tracker on Steam, the mobile app SmoothTrack, and Opentrack's neuralnet, and finally, I even bought a Tobii5. Although they all do not need to wear anything on the head, they all have problems with insufficient accuracy and too much lag. None of them can come close to the experience of Trackir. Finally, I purchased an AimxyZ. After receiving the product, I opened the product’s official website: http://z.aimxy.com Downloaded and installed the software, and adjusted AimxyZ according to Manual. Since I wear glasses, I placed it in the lower right corner of my screen as the instructions suggest. AimxyZ only requires CPU and not GPU. My computer CPU is 12900 without K. When AimxyZ's engine is set to the maximum, Lag will be the least. Then on the Config page, reduce the Smooth of Rotation and Position to 1-2. I feel that my AimxyZ is working like Trackir, but I don’t need to wear anything, and I won’t lose sensing because the head angle is too large. , and the sensing will not be interrupted due to collision between two points of the light holder at a specific angle. In particular, the AimxyZ can be used in darker environments. I only have a low-bright desk lamp turned on in my room, but the AimxyZ works very well without any issues. Because using the camera and starting the software requires an Internet connection, some people may be worried about privacy issues. I did a test according to the plan introduced by others: "I ran Wireshark capture to see if there was anything sending back to the server, but there was none. Which means you can play without the internet as long as you pass the first "validation" process." I really like the feeling of high precision, high sensitivity, and low Lag without wearing anything. Although I am also using VR to play DCS now, I use AimxyZ more often. I sincerely recommend this product to everyone. Disclaimer: I have not received any promotional fees from Aimxy, and they do not seem to have any active overseas marketing plans. I just hope more people can use this fantastic product. 1

I think you meant “my TrackIR died” That looks like a really interesting device though, yeah I’d think the way facial recognition tech is these days a solution like this should be feasible. It’s good to see it’s actual hardware instead of a webcam hack. You should move this post out of the “For Sale” section and into the more relevant section. ZON Posted July 30, 2024 Author Posted July 30, 2024 Ok, thanks for your advice. This is my first time posting on the DCS forum. I just recently started playing DCS again. I was playing FS2020 before.
cj43g3r Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I would also highly recommend opentrack with built in Kinect Face support for Kinect V2. But only if you can find one at a reasonable price from a reputable seller.
