DSplayer Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Currently, the ALQ-131 requires warmup even on all hot starts and on all pylons. Track with all hot spawns attempted: F-4_ECM_Hotstart.trk Discord: @dsplayer Setup: R7 7800X3D, 64GB 6000Mhz, Saitek/Logitech X56 HOTAS, TrackIR + TrackClipPro Resources I've Made: F-4E RWR PRF Sound Player | DCS DTC Web Editor Mods I've Made: F-14 Factory Clean Cockpit Mod | Modern F-14 Weapons Mod | Iranian F-14 Weapons Pack | F-14B Nozzle Percentage Mod + Label Fix | AIM-23 Hawk Mod for F-14
Zabuzard Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 I believe there was an issue with detecting pylon status on spawn or similar which then didnt get addressed yet. I will put it on the list, thanks.

Just did a instant action mission and it seems like this still occurs in the latest patch. Double checked in a mission I made and I still have the issue in all hot starts. If you can send me a mission or track that would be helpful in case I cant reproduce it myself for whatever reason. Cheers

This track is made using the same mission that I used for the previous track provided in the first post F-4_ECM_Hotstart_3.trk 1 Discord: @dsplayer Setup: R7 7800X3D, 64GB 6000Mhz, Saitek/Logitech X56 HOTAS, TrackIR + TrackClipPro Resources I've Made: F-4E RWR PRF Sound Player | DCS DTC Web Editor Mods I've Made: F-14 Factory Clean Cockpit Mod | Modern F-14 Weapons Mod | Iranian F-14 Weapons Pack | F-14B Nozzle Percentage Mod + Label Fix | AIM-23 Hawk Mod for F-14

Everything is warmed up: Can someone else try to replay the track to see if its only working on my end? Thanks. It is possible that the code has undefined behavior here, as the implementation makes an assumption about call-order during the initialization process that I assumed to be safe. But if it is not working for you and possibly others, it might be that the assumption was unsafe, resulting in code that only works sometimes. If what I assume is the case, I've just pushed a fix for it Edited August 26, 2024 by Zabuzard

I played it on debug mode. Possibly that change said method call order during initialization. If that's the case, the next update will hopefully contain my fix :) Lets check again with the update.
Stickler Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Not sure if the following issue is related to or was caused by fixing the one reported in this thread, but as of 2.9.11.4686, both ECM switches are in STBY when the aircraft spawns. The checklist calls for the ECM to be switched OFF during the After Landing Checks, and I do not see a reason why maintenance personnel would place the switch to STBY prior to the crew entering the jet. If the switch needs to be in STBY on spawn to prevent the no-warmup bug, it might be left as is, otherwise I recommend the OFF position as default.

So when users want to enable the jammer they can do so right away and not be like "oh damn, I forgot to tell Jester to start the warmup 5min ago". But yes, you would normally leave it on OFF on ground and cold.
