MrPiper Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Hi, Does any other Quest 3 owners have this problems- Using Quest Link Cable and DCS has started crashing on start up. I get as far as the loading screen then get a crash reporting screen every time. I have done a repair on Quest Link and done a clean and repair on DCS but still the same problem. I think Meta may have updated the link and I am fearing its broken DCS again. Anyone else experiencing these issue or is it just me? slughead Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 If you are using OpenXR Toolkit, Quad View Foveated Rendering, HTCC, or any third-party OpenXR layer tool, disable them. They're not compatible with Meta Link v68 anymore due to Meta's changes. If you want to keep using those tools, switch to the Virtual Desktop app, which uses its own VDxR link instead of Meta Link. MrPiper Posted July 30, 2024 Author Posted July 30, 2024 Hi Slughead, Thanks for the response. I am using XR Toolkit but I am unsure how to disable those items? Is it in a menu Can I use Virtual Desktop app with cable? MrPiper Posted July 30, 2024 Author Posted July 30, 2024 Just to add , I ticked the box to disable to the toolkit and it loads. Thanks. I also read the toolkit is being developed no further which is a shame. NoshDaMinsk Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Thanks - got it working for me. I wonder what the fps impact will be not being able to use the tool?
JesterIsDead Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Meta app v68 actually works great for me even without OXRTK. My setting for Quest 3- 72Hz, ASW on auto, 1.3 SS, 1.0 PD. In one one one dogfights in the F-15 in Caucasus, I get 60-72 fps. ASW never kicked in. Same with some campaign mission in F-18 (Serpent's Head). ASW doesn't kick. I tried VD but there is a flashing every 2 seconds and it is quite annoying. Not sure where that comes from. 1 I7-10700F | RTX4070 FE | 32G RAM | Quest 2/3 | TM T16000 HOTAS & Throttle | F/A-18C | F-14A/B | F-15C | A-10 II | F-4E
whitav8 Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Not suggesting that you jump on the Public Test Channel for both Quest3 and Meta Quest PC Link/Airlink because there may be other issues - but at least OXRTK is functional again during VR operation and doesn’t cause CTD during startup. These are the full version info numbers: Quest 3 68.0.0.507.364 Meta Quest Link PCVR 68.0.0.474.361 I tried Airlink and Link both. I normally use Virtual Desktop but wanted to try Meta Link.
