As per the title, anyone know if there are any more official Heatblur training missions planned? I have done the current set of 8, but still feel like a complete noob and there is of course lots of material not covered in those. I can take off, fly around and land, but anything like a full strike mission against opposition, like I can do in the F/A-18, F-16 or the A-10 is way beyond me.

I know there are plenty of YouTube tutorials but being a VR-only player it's hard to train with these.

On top of that, is Heatblur looking at making any sort of mini-campaign? Such as was done for the F-14? I guess the current lack of theatres might make it less desirable.   Reflected's Campaign should be out soon so that will fill the gap.

Pretty sure they're working on a 1973 Yom Kippur War set of missions/campaign that includes a few custom assets.

We are currently finalizing the WSO startup training mission. After that we will move on to systems, weapons etc.

We have started the work on the Yom Kippur campaign, called "Days of Atonement"

Ah I see at least one of you guys probably read the same book I did. Awesome news, super excited.

Well, whether you read Ghosts of Atonement or not, Yom Kippur translates to "day of atonement" - which is both the inspiration for the book, or many books and mentions around this war, and of course our campaign as well. For Egypt and Syria it is commonly known as the October War though, but since one will be flying F-4s, on Israel side, we chose "Days of Atonement". Naturally, we appreciate all sides in the war, and the campaign is semi historical and detached from irl political, ideological or religious conflicts. (Just as a sidenote.)

If anyone did not read Ghosts of Atonement, it is a hard recommend. Beyond that of course several books serve as inspiration for the campaign.

Well you truly learn something every day. Thanks for the language lesson 🙂

"Ghosts of Atonement" is the source for all the single missions I am posting in User Files.

It is a terrific resource, recounting every F-4 mission flown by the IAF during the war.

I'm about half way through the war. Check out User Files/Single Missions/F-4E/tttiger
