"Access Violation" and "Skipped Due to Large Size" Crashes

Log file attached.

System info:

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core
  • 16 GB RAM
  • 1 TB SSD
  • TrackIR

Things I've tried so far:

  • Game client "cleanup" function
  • Verified install of game files (Steam)
  • Windows fully updated
  • Re-installed NVIDIA drivers (from the NVIDIA client)
  • Changed Windows pagefile size to 16000 MB

Mirrors don't render correctly in any aircraft, and game doesn't necessarily crash right away. The AI can duke it out indefinitely from F10 and external views, there seems to be some breaking point reached after 30-60 minutes of actual flying. Haven't had this issue until recently when I went a month or so without playing but picked it back up in the last week or so.

There seem to be a number of posts with similar logs to yours.  The common denominators that I'm seeing is a Access Violation error and only having 16 GB physical RAM and using Steam.  I'm wondering if 16 GB is no longer enough, but interesting that it only seems to be Steam users

The mirror issue is a Single Thread (ST) issue.  Switch to Multi-thread (MT) and you should fix that problem.

Have you tried your DCS without User Mods enabled? ... you have just 16 GB of RAM, and have loaded the A-4E, F-22A, Hercules, UH-60L, and the T-45C ... it may be excessive for 16 GB.
