Thank you for this update!!!! I am sure there are many complaining about something with this update.

But I, for one, am JOYFUL that I can drop bombs on stuff and blow stuff up.

Life is good.

Thank you thank you thank you.

Bombs are working again if you like to drop a lot of them with unlimited ammo... for "practice"

They also seem to inflict more damage. Always a good thing

I don't check daily for updates and just noticed a new update.

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/changelog/stable/2.9.7.59263/

After the past few months with the bomb fuze issues, I must admit I am very hesitant to install.

Fuzes are working, but its up to you if you want to update.

You can always roll back if you are not happy.

McAfee picked this up right after I installed the update.

It will be a false positive, some AV does not like the protection being used and flags it.

You can submit the file for inspection at your provider or exclude it and run a repair of DCS

thank you

Submit the file to whom? McAfee? And won't a "repair" just put it back? The timestamp on the file does indicate it was updated in the patch.

Sorry to ask stupid questions but I would rather not rebuild my system this weekend.

Yes you can submit to mcafee if you wish to.

Repairing will help but if you do not exclude the location from the next scan it may just flag it again.

I am just wondering why McAfee never flagged it before, and, more importantly, is it safe?

Some AV can be over protective and flag files,

Personally I only use windows defender, it is enough and have not had any issues with it.

Security of your machine is a personal thing, which is why I have suggested you can submit it for checking, however I am pretty sure it is a false positive and safe and if you are happy you can exclude it from the scans.

thank you

I appreciate that. My employer provides McAfee for home use and we use it at work ("Trelix")

Thanks

Tried to run a repair without removing the combined arms.dll first.

Why are there viruses in this file

Hi,

you need to add an exclusion to your antivirus for the location otherwise it will continue to flag the file.

Some antivirus are over protective and flag files ( false positives )

1. add an exclusion for DCS in your antivirus

2. run a repair

then you should be ok, if you need more help please contact support directly here https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/

they will assist you

thank you

Well I did do that.

I marked the file safe in McAfee first, then tried to run the repair, where I got the warning. The warning came from the DCS Updater.

So I next time to actually left McAfee remove the file (quarantine), then ran the repair. This time the warning was gone. Then I started DCS and again got the warning about

Authorization is valid for 2d 23h 58m

The following DLCs are  not authorized and will be be disabled:  Combined Arms

And yes, I will contact support now.

All of the F10 maps are blank, except for the units.

That’s Kolki. Not the ocean

Read in another thread, that this only happens in ST. Seems like the ST version is not fully supported anymore, it‘s only for debugging or something like this. That‘s why MT is the default.

If this also shows in the MT version, then you should probably post it in the general bugs section.

Yes. I submitted a ticket and the response was to try MT. That's when I discovered that I didn't have /bin-mt/DCS.exe

And have not heard back. I was just posting the screenshots in this thread since it was easier than uploading to the ticket.

I am trying MT now.

Still got the authorization errors, which now also includes the F-16 and Kola map.

I guess messing up your install on a weekend is not a great idea. Or maybe Support is so busy with other dopes like me

Using MT did fix the map problem.

And I'll just wait for them to respond back about the authorizations.. maybe go out and clean out the garage.

I think I also read of other people who had those authorisation problems recently. But I thought it got fixed with the recent patch.

Thanks for that info as well as the MT info. I really appreciate your comments.

The recent patch is what started this for me.

So this error coming from the DCS Updater is caused by McAfee?
