DST Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Can't seem to find a proper video or manual page on this, just want to fly a simple flight plan with 2 waypoints. When I start from the ramp with engines running, the needle in the HSD shows to the first waypoint, but I didn't got the second waypoint to show. I managed to switch between the waypoints on the left flight plan display with the "FPP"-up & down buttons, but how do I get the selected waypoint to show on the HSD on the right display, so the needle points to it? Fortunately I know now there's a moving map, where you can show flightplan with waypoints. Still no idea how to cycle between active waypoints, so that they are shown on HSD like you can in Kiowa for example. The manual is extremely sparse with this topic. AlpineGTA Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Ah, ok. Yes, I don't know how to do that either, sorry. i5-11600K CPU, 64GB DDR4 RAM, XFX Speedster MERC319 AMD Radeon 6900 XT, Oculus Quest 2, HP Reverb G2
DST Posted August 16, 2024 Author Posted August 16, 2024 I noticed, that the active waypoint switches, when you fly straight over it innert a certain radius like in the Apache, I guess it's maybe similar to switch waypoints in the Apache, where it is quite a bit elaborate procedure too. You can try going to the FPLN page on the CDU, then press Direct To, then press the button on the left of the waypoint you want to go to. 1
red23 Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Use the fpp up and down arrows to select the way point (red box labeled 1) and hit the DIR button to make it active. it will go to your HSD then. it will also auto move to your next way point. 1
vex. Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Direct to will create a waypoint at your current location. This is good when you want the "arrow" to point directly at the waypoint but it alters your flight plan which may be not desirable as you might want to follow original patch you diverged from. I haven't find any other method currently than using direct and then go to modify flight plan and remove the point that direct just created. Which is quite silly. I am certain we are missing something.
